💼 How much is too much to ask for at work when you’re raising a child with a disability?

In the latest and probably one of my most important episodes of Dadability, I break down what happens when you’re honest about your family’s needs and what to watch for when the support you’re offered starts to shift.

Whether you’ve faced this already or you’re thinking about how to navigate it, I share 5 key lessons for disability dads trying to balance life and work:

✅ Disclose what you need, nothing more
✅ Read the culture before you open up
✅ Be clear and confident in your ask
✅ Know your rights
✅ Don’t just find a job, find alignment

We’re not asking for special treatment. We’re asking for support that lets us show up fully, for our families and our roles.

Ever found yourself overreacting to something small… and then instantly regretting it?

This happened to me again over the last few weeks
Not in a meltdown moment. Not in a crisis.
Just a regular conversation, and suddenly I was back in the loop.

👉 The loop of personalisation
👉 The loop of reacting instead of responding
👉 The loop of making it about me when it never was

I know better. I’ve done the work. But even then… it caught me.

This week’s Dadability episode is about that moment, and what it means to fall back, catch yourself, and try again.

🚨New Episode Alert ‼️

Being both physically fit and mentally fit is super important when raising kids with disabilities to ensure you look after yourself and your wellbeing. Mental Fitness is about becoming more prepared for what life throws at us, as well as performing better in and enjoying everyday life. It also reduces risk of mental illness like depression and anxiety just the same as being physically fit reduces our risk of illness like heart disease and diabetes.

Worth a listen 🎧💪🏻🧠
