Pretty fun day in the office recently filming some ads for Carlton Black. 🍺

Shooting products like this is always a pretty massive technical challenge. Everything is reflective, every light source shows up somewhere, and suddenly every tiny speck of dust becomes very, very visible.

Luckily, the team from Asahi Beverages came in with some great ideas on how to heighten the visuals, while still keeping everything grounded in a real pub environment.

A fun technical challenge and a great one to shoot.

What’s the real value of colour grading and compositing?
This side-by-side answers it.

Same shot, same performance, same edit. The only variable is post. The top is the ungraded ad; the bottom is the finished garage grade with compositing.

Clients often see post-production as the final polish.
In reality it’s a lot of where tone, brand feel and perceived production value are decided.

It’s the difference between footage that looks captured and footage that looks intentional — and that difference is what audiences actually respond to.

If you’re comparing production quotes, this is the line item that’s easy to cut and expensive to skip.

Our latest brand film for Wild Secrets is here.

The idea was to have fun with the brand and build a whole secret universe - one we can keep expanding on down the track.

Huge thanks to a client generous enough to run with my crazy ideas, and who brought so much to it themselves.

High pressure shoot day, a lot on the line, and a cast and crew who absolutely delivered. Couldn’t be happier with the result.

A day creating photo and video content for Club House, an alcohol-free refresher with a beer-like feel, made for the course.

This was one of those shoots where the brand world was already so well thought out, we just got to have fun bringing it to life.

Clean pack shots, misty cans, backyard grass sourcing, winter sun in Melbourne, one very opportunistic dog, and a final sprint down to Oakleigh Golf Course.

6am call time at the State Netball Centre.

A morning filming current and past netballers, talking about life as professional athletes and women in sport.

Beautiful Canon K35s, an EyeDirect, three cameras, and a few little tricks to make the coverage feel bigger than it was.

Always love finding ways to make interviews feel more personal.

One thing I always forget during big shoot weeks is how fast the days disappear.

You spend weeks planning, stressing, budgeting, organising crew, props, locations… then suddenly you’re halfway through the shoot wondering where the week went.

Pretty grateful I get to do this for a living.

Huddle Stories No. 2 🎬

Shoot day.

Started the morning with coffee, some stress and a truck full of gear… ended with one of my favourite shoots in a long time.

This set was wild to see come together after yesterday’s bump in. Huge effort from every department to pull this one off.

Still getting used to filming BTS on the Ray-Ban Meta glasses too. Feels weirdly natural now 😂

There’s always something extra fun about that first project together.

Learning how a brand works, how they like to collaborate and setting the tone for everything that follows.

These behind-the-scenes moments never make the final cut, but they say a lot about the process – the people, the planning and the energy on set.
