How’s about this Pilbara free camp?! 😍

📍Near Mt Herbert in the Millstream Chichester National Park.

There’s also a short, easy walk up to the top of Mt Herbert for awesome views… can you spot our caravan from the sunrise pic?!

Python Pool’s only a short drive from here too, making it a great base for the Chichester side of the National Park.

See this and more in our latest YT episode, live on our channel now 🎥

🚨 NEW EPISODE 🚨

Crossing the Pilbara: Secret Camps Found in Remote Outback Australia

We’ve travelled Australia for four years now, and somehow, we’d never even heard of this place!

There were no crowds or famous online “bucket-list” places to see, just a remote national park tucked away in the Pilbara, hiding freshwater swimming holes, ancient ranges and rugged tracks through this remote part of our country.

Today we’re heading into Millstream Chichester National Park to find out whether this is one of WA’s most underrated places… or whether there’s a reason no one talks about it.

If you like trains, you have to take this shortcut from Tom Price to Karratha!

The Rio Tinto Rail Access Road is a private road running through the Pilbara, but you can travel on it for free if you get a permit online or from one of the visitor centres in the area. This will also save you a couple hours too!

The road’s kept in pretty good condition as it’s frequently used by mining vehicles, and it’s awesome to be able to see these massive iron ore trains up close (these trains are usually 2km long! 🤯

Who else has taken this unique shortcut before?!

Some exciting news from us today 😁

After months of work (and a beta testing phase with some incredible early members), OAT Memberships are officially live!

This is an optional way for anyone who wants a bit more from us to get a bit more from us:
- a monthly members-only podcast
- a private Google map of everywhere we recommend from our travels
- monthly PDF travel guides
- behind-the-scenes and bonus content,
- and a few other bits we’re really proud of.

Just as importantly, our normal content isn’t changing. OAT Memberships is just the bonus stuff for people who would like more.

If you’d like a proper look at what’s inside OAT memberships, we’re sharing more details on our stories, or see more details at the link in the comments.

🚨 NEW EPISODE 🚨

Visiting Australia’s Deadliest Town | The Dark Side of Karijini

We visit one of the most stunning travel destinations in the country, Karijini, in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. But for all its beauty, there’s a darker side to this place that’s impossible to ignore.

In today’s video, we’re exploring the good and the bad of Karijini… the epic gorges, swims and camp spots that draw people here, and the deadly secrets tied to this region that most travellers don’t even know about. Catch the full episode now at the link in the comments 👌🏼

This is how we’d recommend spending 2-3 hours at Dales in Karijini.

5km loop walk, 3 swims and plenty of gorgeous sites.

How good 🙌🏼

Which Karijini gorge is your favourite?
