Dust, horses, fashion and plenty of outback spirit ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿ‡

๐Ÿ‚ Could Wagyu genetics be changing the future of northern beef?

What started as a move to add value to the commercial herd is becoming an increasingly interesting opportunity for northern producers.

I spoke to Peter "Sos" Hacon about the challenges of getting Wagyu genetics to perform in the north, the benefits in fertility and putting Wags to the test in some very different cattle country.

๐Ÿ”ŽSPOTTO! ๐Ÿ‘€
A pretty special moment last week โ€” one of my stories made the front page of the North Queensland Register. ๐Ÿ“ฐโœจ

Iโ€™ve written for the Register before, so itโ€™s certainly not my first front-page story, but this one felt a little different โ€” itโ€™s my first front-page since coming back to the paper as a freelancer.

Iโ€™m pretty chuffed to see my articles back on the front page and even more grateful to be back telling stories from across North Queensland. ๐Ÿค

Did you spot last weekโ€™s paper?

๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿค  Four decades. Thousands of kilometres. Countless bucking horses and bulls. And one family legacy that continues to shape rodeo across North West Queensland and the Northern Territory.

I sat down with Byron Remfrey to discuss A&J Remfrey Rodeo's humble beginnings and growth into one of the region's most respected stock contracting operations.

Cloncurry's main street looks a little different but it is part of a bigger plan! ๐Ÿšง๐Ÿ‘ท
Scarr Street represents a major construction zone, as the $20 million upgrade to aging infrastructure and revitalisation takes place. โ›
While construction can bring short-term disruptions, the project represents a significant investment in the town's future and is expected to support local business activity and community growth for years to come. ๐ŸŒณ
