The 2026 Sedan Dip races drew crowds from across the north west and beyond, with racegoers travelling hundreds of kilometres to be part of one of the most iconic bush weekends. From thrilling track action to Fashions on the Field and catch-ups with friends old and new, it was a day to remember.

🐂 Could Wagyu genetics be changing the future of northern beef?

What started as a move to add value to the commercial herd is becoming an increasingly interesting opportunity for northern producers.

I spoke to Peter "Sos" Hacon about the challenges of getting Wagyu genetics to perform in the north, the benefits in fertility and putting Wags to the test in some very different cattle country.
