🎤 JD Fortune Rocks Selina’s! ⚡️

Last night I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with JD Fortune — just moments before he took the stage at Selina’s, Coogee Beach Hotel — and wow… what a night!

In this exclusive teaser clip from our interview, JD opens up about life, music, and what it means to carry the spirit of INXS and Michael Hutchence into every performance.

And then… he lifted the roof off Selina’s! 🔥 Backed by an incredible band, JD delivered a powerhouse set that had the crowd on their feet from the first note to the last encore. He didn’t just perform the INXS classics — he owned them. The energy, the voice, the attitude — pure rock star magic.

Everyone left completely blown away by his electrifying performance. JD proved once again that he’s not just keeping the INXS legacy alive — he’s taking it to new heights.

🎬 Stay tuned for the full interview — coming soon! Love Bee and JD Fortune

This day in INXS history 📆

"All these scars are mine..."

32 years ago today INXS release their first single from the Full Moon Dirty Hearts album - The Gift.

A collaboration between Michael Hutchence and Jon Farriss, the single reached number 11 on the UK singles chart, and number 16 in Australia.

No doubt hampered by MTV banning the accompanying video which featured controversial images of the crucifixion of Christ, the single did not chart on the main US chart. (But did reach number 6 on the alternative US Billboard chart)

In an interview with the director and long-term collaborator Richard Lowenstein: "The video uses harrowing visuals in order to portray man's ability to create havoc and destruction. The message behind the video is to show how as viewers, we have become accepting of, and increasingly apathetic to images of gross human suffering and violence."

The photography for the single cover was undertaken by famed photographer Helmut Newton and features the band in a "Last Supper" pose with Michael as Jesus and the band as disciples. The lady featured in the photograph is 70s actress Barbara Leigh.

The Gift would be one of twelve music videos featuring on The Album Visual - a companion piece to the Full Moon Dirty Hearts album where a music video was filmed for each track. You can watch the official muisc video for The Gift here:

And below is a bonus snippet showing some alternative footage:

We reckon this is one of the very best music videos INXS put out, but do you agree? Let us know what you think about The Gift in the comments below.

✨Last night was something special✨

I finally met JD Fortune in person for the very first time — before his concert — and what a moment that was. From our very first phone call to our private meet-up, I knew he was someone deeply passionate about his music and his art.

In person, JD was everything I imagined and more — honest, humble, sensitive, and completely together. There’s a grounded truth about him that you just feel.

Then came the stage… and wow — the man shone, and somehow managed to shine even brighter once the lights hit him. Pure rock energy, pure heart, and pure JD. 🌟🎤 Shared with my amazing INXS mates 😎🥰

Michael Hutchence features in the tribute concert to Elvis Presley on 8 October 1994 at the Pyramid Arena in Memphis, Tennessee. Titled "It's Now Or Never: The Tribute To Elvis" this concert was reportedly the first tribute concert approved by the Elvis Presley Estate, and was broadcast around the world. 🏰

The concert featured a diverse cast of artists such as Iggy Pop, Chris Isaak, Bryan Adams, Wet Wet Wet and Cheap Trick, but alongside these acts was the legend himself - Michael Hutchence - who performed "Baby, Let's Play House".🏡

One of the more obscure of Elvis's huge back catalogue of hits, but nevertheless, Michaels version stands up as truly a great live performance. 😎

The studio version of Michaels cover can be found on the accompanying compilation album but a link to his live performance is here:

Bee’s Review 🎤🔥
Well… what a night! I finally got to see JD Fortune live — and let me tell you, this wasn’t just a gig… this was a full-blown rock concert! 🤘

I never had the chance to see JD fronting INXS, but tonight he absolutely owned that stage. He’s pulled together a killer band — tight, loud, and totally electric. From the moment JD leapt onto the stage with Su***de Blonde, that familiar Fortune energy hit like a lightning bolt ⚡️— the same charisma and raw passion that blew us all away back in 2005 when he took the mic for INXS.

His voice? Powerful. His presence? Magnetic. The crowd? Losing their minds from the very first note! Every song left us wanting more… and judging by the roar of that encore, I wasn’t the only one!

If you haven’t grabbed a ticket yet — what are you waiting for? There are still plenty of shows coming up, and trust me, you need to experience this.

The Dutchie and I are road-trippin’ down to Sydney next to catch JD at Selina’s, so come on down and rock out with us! 🎶

On this day in INXS history... 📚✨️

"You're part of the solution or part of the problem"

In these troubled times never has a lyric had more significance. Taken from the single The Strangest Party (These Are the Times) which was released on this day 10 October 1994 (and 24 October 1994 in AUS)

Included as one of two new tracks on the 1994 compilation album, The Greatest Hits, The Strangest Party would reach a respectable number 15 on the UK Singles Chart and number 34 on the Australian Singles Chart.

The accompanying Monty Whitebloom & Andy Delaney directed music video for the single features the band performing in a variety of rooms predominantly decked out in black.

The Strangest Party was recorded with producer Chris Thomas, however, the music for the song was originally written by Andrew Farriss during the recording sessions of the band's previous studio album, Full Moon, Dirty Hearts.

During the recording of "Deliver Me", the band wanted to add a second new track on the record, and decided to use the material that Andrew had previously written. The lyrics for the song were later added in by Michael Hutchence.

In an interview during the promotion of their Greatest Hits release, Michael described the song as a commentary on the band's lifestyle, particularly the lyric: "You're part of the solution or part of the problem" and in the album's liner notes states: "I think this new album and especially the new single, 'The Strangest Party' sums up our time so far with INXS. It's certainly been the strangest party I've ever been to."

It would be another two and a half years before we had another INXS single (Elegantly Wasted) so let us know what you think about the track The Strangest Party in the comments below.

🎉 Happy Birthday to the one and only Jon Stevens! 🎂

A huge shout-out and congratulations on the release of your brand-new single “Shimmer” — what a stunning return! The track shines with raw emotion, soul, and that unmistakable powerhouse voice we all know and love.

Many will remember Jon fronting INXS in the 2000s, where he co-wrote “I Get Up” with Andrew Farriss, keeping the INXS flame burning bright.

Now he’s back with Shimmer and gearing up for his upcoming tour and Summer of Love Rockfest 2026, sharing the stage with legends like Wolfmother and The Screaming Jets.

Here’s to you, Jon — wishing you a rockin’ birthday week and every success with this exciting new chapter! 🎸✨
