Deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Fauja Singh, the world’s oldest marathon runner, who died at the age of 114 in a tragic road accident in Punjab. From beginning marathon running at age 89 to completing dozens of races well into his centenarian years, Fauja Singh defied expectations.

Honored by the Queen, a torchbearer at London 2012, and an emblem of resilience, positivity, and determination, Fauja Singh inspired millions to believe: "Age is just a number, attitude is everything."

Let us remember Fauja Singh not only for the miles he ran—but for the love, strength, and hope he carried with him every step of the way.

Honored to attend the construction commencement ceremony for the Sunbury Community Arts and Cultural Precinct.

To celebrate this exciting milestone, we planted a Manna Gum tree — a meaningful gesture that symbolizes growth, sustainability, and respect for the land and community.

Looking forward to the creation of a vibrant space that will showcase and support the rich arts and cultural life of Sunbury.

We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of lives in the Air India Flight AI171 crash in Ahmedabad which claimed over 240 lives. Our deepest condolences go out to the families and loved ones of all those affected.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may their families find strength in this time of sorrow 🙏

🚨 Toughest Bail Laws Ever – Community Safety First! 🚨

Hon Premier Jacinta Allan today announced
the toughest bail laws in Australia to crack down on serious repeat offenders and put community safety first.

These reforms will:

✔️ Prioritize public safety – remand is no longer a last resort.
✔️ Hold repeat offenders accountable – a tougher bail test for serious crimes.
✔️ Enforce stricter bail conditions – with real consequences for breaches.
✔️ Ban machetes – taking strong action against violent knife crime.

These reforms will support

New wage theft laws criminalising the deliberate underpayment of workers have officially come into effect.

The Fair Work Ombudsman has announced that from 1 January 2025, individuals found to have deliberately underpaid workers could face up to 10 years in prison and fines of A$1.65 million, under new federal laws criminalising wage theft.

The legislation follows a number of years of employee underpayments involving major corporations including Woolworths, Commonwealth Bank, Qantas, Super Retail Group, NAB, BHP, 7-Eleven and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC).

The Voluntary Small Business Wage Compliance Code and supporting guide is now available to help businesses prepare and protect themselves.
