I don't run the Belly Fat Challenge to talk about weight loss. I run it to stop women from blaming themselves for something that was never their fault.
Because that's what I see every time.
Women who are smart, disciplined, and completely convinced that they are the problem.
They've tried harder. They've cut more. They've pushed through exhaustion to get to the gym. And the belly has kept growing, slowly, persistently, despite everything.
The moment they understand the hormonal picture, that this is oestrogen, cortisol,
disrupted sleep signalling, a body in transition, the self-blame stops.
And then the real work can begin. Not harder work. Different work.
