How are we 11 days in 2026 already? goodness me. That's gone quick 🫢 Wally dominating our year starter photos (as he should) Trying to make sure we're actually posting this year. Did 1TB of photos last year and I definitely didn't post that much 😅🥲

I realised I hadn't shared the news with you lovely people! I knew something was amiss back when we were in Melbourne and Mr C. had to go meet "Molly" without me 🤨

Buuuuuut I also knew he generally wouldn't brave the CBD without me so I was low-key confident that this may have been on the cards. Just not then when and where.

Fast forward a few days to our Tassie trip. We got (purposefully) side tracked with a recommendation from our new friends over at
to go explore up near Mount Paris Dam. Along the way, we stopped for a few photos and the rest is history!

(huzzah for taking your own engagement photos and not bringing a tripod on this trip 🫶✨️)

was where this absolutely stunning piece is from. I feel very lucky and grateful 🥰❤️ Mr C picked perfectlyyyyy

When decided not to go to PAX this year, we still had leave up our sleeves for his birthday. I was mulling on what to do, and my friend has mentioned about her recent time visiting the and was absolutely raving.

I love Litchfield, it's only an hour or so away from home and a weekend away sounded so incredibly lovely. I reached out to the amazing Alice who has been nothing short of spectacular through the whole process ✨️

So off we toddled on our lil adventure, me sort of knowing what was going on, going in blind because nothing says birthday without a surprise, right?

Friends, this place was absolutely s t u n n i n g.

like, we were lost for words for a good ten minutes when we got in the door. the level of detail and love put into the property from Alice and Steven. the view. The fresh breakfast. The accomodation to my dietary requirements and the surprise and delights, just. look. Im not selling it well. and I think you just really need to come and experience it for yourself. I read the guest book entries from those who came before us and everyone had the same sentiment that this is just a little slice of paradise. I kinda dont want to talk about it, because I want to keep it a hidden gem. But we're not about that gatekeeping lifestyle. so please go have a look. more photos incoming ✨️

nestled in the heart of parap is the ever popular

I feel that we end up here a few times a year. usually for some sort of event; a birthday. an anniversary. we were hungry 🤷🏼‍♀️

the food is always impeccable. I tried the chicken salad bowl (which was super filling. I couldn't finish it) whilst went with the cult classic of a Laneway breakfast.

we always seem to come in right when there's a crowd (it's a skill) but it's a testament to how much of a loved Darwin café this is.

oh, and of course. the coffee is great, too ☕️

happiest of birthdays to my best friend. my rock. my moon. my stars. the partner in crime I never knew I needed, but always had asked the universe for. the person who can simultaneously drive me bonkers and calm me in the same breath. thank you for you and i look forward to celebrating another trip around the sun with you next year 🍻

sunday morning

i am dazed by
a punch to the face.
not metaphorical.

round one ends
with no winner.

round two:
there is no remorse.
only the aggressive enthusiasm
of someone who believes
their needs are the sole
purpose of my existence,
fighting to claim the podium.

a scratch drags down my jawline.
it stings, and saying “ow”
is now my new
repetitive anthem
they play.

i wonder if this is
a sign of love,
or, just poor coordination.

he stares at me.
brown eyes wide,
timing a third round in the ring.

“try getting a run-up this time,”
i frown, but wave forward
the final launch.

however,
the aging bones win out
and i am not victorious,
his tail tucked
in theatrical defeat.

i am bleeding.
i am bruised.
but these are the memories
that remind me
how much i love him
but fear when we
no longer go for rounds
and instead
hear the final bell ring
and the towel
is retired for good.

when do you think we start saving mean things to ourselves? is it during second grade when you get told to shut up by a class mate for just being yourself? is it when your best friend writes love notes about your boyfriend in grade seven, and denies it vehemently to your face? is it when you get flagged for nudity just after college when you're showing progress photos of how well you were doing with your journey, and thought you were brave to wear what normal people would to the beach?

maybe somewhere it's all of those little things. maybe we should be kinder to our situations.

wow okay ow. thanks Instagram 😢

Day 10 ☕💪
If there’s one thing this little fitness streak has taught me, it’s that we’re way more capable than we give ourselves credit for.

Ten days ago I was doubting if I’d even last a week… now here I am, proving past-me wrong one treadmill session at a time.

Your body (and brain!) will surprise you when you let it. So if you’re sitting on the fence about starting, consider this your sign: you can do hard things too. 🌟
