's Long Table Lunch is nigh, with proceeds from delicious organic cuisine supporting a not-for-profit that fosters real-world community* in a time when they're urgently needed. (*i.e. not online marketing slang for what really amounts to "monetized interest group").

We've donated this jumbo camphor laurel serving/cutting board, with raffle tickets available at the cafe and nursery, and on the QR code linked in the images.

Good causes are a bit of a cliche these days - and Loki knows that charities and nfp's have garnered a reputation as well-earning tax evaders - but we've stuck to this market because we've seen and experienced the many humble characters and personalities involved sacrificing and doing there best to do some good in this topsy turvy world.

Think global, but support local.

This week's treenware for , oiling overnight for two days for best effect. Very much liking the new way we've made handles, ad they'll be more repairable. Also rustic af :)

Bonus least offensive music i could find because insta really insisted =/

Italian-made buckles have arrived! Designed and made by hand in a small business that focuses on quality, style (and supporting its artisans), we've selected a few dozen to go with our local cowhide belts.
Aside from being hella stylish (we've picked out a couple for ourselves =D) these are solid brass under the plating, and the weight in hand shows it.

As we match these to suitable leathers and hardware that meets our ethos, we'll be bringing them along to , and adding them to our finally-getting-a-long-overdue-overhaul website.

note: belts are more fun to make than websites

We're off to this weekend! Here's some pics from the shenanigans at the that i had meant to post a while ago and...well, didn't.

Huzzah!

p.s. the leather shoes lasted on my feet for one day. Medieval nostalgia is fun and all, but there's a lot to be said for modern footwear. oh yes.

Makin' pants' holder-upper devices! Cowhide from local fam-owned tannery, german-made upholstery thread, and hardware we've been collecting over the years, often from retiring crafters selling off their buckles, etc.

We're in the process of commissioning buckles from small foundries in Italy and England, but more on that later ;)

Bonus maker pics, coz im sneaky =D

Testing out belt pattern designs on offcuts. The ol' sketchbook has dozens doodled down over the years, buuuut not all of them will work out. Maybe half? Who can know?

Aaanyways, failing and iterating and moving on is all part of the process.

And yes that's me trying to remind myself =P
