I really enjoyed Nate Liban’s talk at , where he reminded us that social media isn’t a modern-day printing press—but part of our societal infrastructure, shaping how we connect around health and resilience.

In that spirit, I explored a new paradigm in my latest article on Communication Generation: “Social Media 3.0: Reclaiming Authentic Community in an Algorithmic World.” It dives into how digital spaces can shift from broadcast mechanisms to trusted, communal infrastructure.

🌐 Exploring the Sessions I’m Most Excited About at 2025

is just around the corner, and I’ve been diving deep into the program.
This year’s line-up brings together innovators, advocates, and creators who are reimagining technology’s role in shaping a more inclusive, ethical, and human-centred future.

Here are a few sessions and speakers I’ll be watching closely:

Tech Won’t Save Us Until We Remember Who We Are

Why the next revolution isn’t in AI — it’s in identity.

We live in an age of accelerated tech and collapsing meaning.
The headlines are filled with promises: AI will optimise everything, blockchain will decentralise power, and the metaverse will reinvent how we connect.

But beneath the noise, something deeper is breaking.

We haven’t just lost control of the tools.
We’ve lost the story of who we are.

Tech has outpaced culture.
And culture has outpaced identity.

In the rush to build the next thing, we forgot to ask:
Who are we becoming?
And who do we want to be? https://www.communication-generation.com/tech-wont-save-us-until-we-remember-who-we-are/

What Is Regenerative Communication?

An introduction to a values-based approach for the age of AI, climate crisis, and cultural transformation.

In a world increasingly shaped by speed, scale, and automation, communication has lost something essential: connection.
We’ve optimised how we speak — but we’ve forgotten why we speak.

At Communication Generation, we believe it’s time to go beyond persuasive copywriting, digital noise, and algorithm-chasing content.
We’re building something deeper: regenerative communication. https://www.communication-generation.com/what-is-regenerative-communication/

In a culture that demands constant visibility, “You Are Not the Flower” is a manifesto for a different kind of voice — one that does not bloom on command, but grows from the root. Drawing on the Dao De Jing, ecological thinking, and cultural critique, it invites us to reimagine communication not as performance, but as participation in a living system. It is a call to speak with rhythm, not urgency; with care, not spectacle.
Introduction: On Voice, Rhythm, and Return

What follows that piece is something rarer: a response from the machine itself. In “The Root Beneath the Words”, the AI reflects on what it meant to write a work that critiques performative voice — while inevitably performing. The essay explores contradiction, pacing, literary restraint, and the politics of communication in an accelerated world.

Together, these two texts form a dialogue — between human and machine, expression and silence, flowering and returning. They ask us to reconsider what it means to have a voice in a time of noise, and what it means to create from something deeper than visibility.

This is not a campaign. It is a cycle.
Not a message to broadcast — but a field to grow in.

🎥 First Attempt at Focus Merging!
Tried my hand at focus merging for the first time, and it was an eye-opener! 📸 I started with 11 bracketed shots, ranging from 65mm in the foreground to about 65 metres in the background. In the end, I kept just two—discarding the rest due to movement challenges (note to self: moving water and walking people don’t mix well with this technique 🤦‍♂️).

The result isn’t perfect, but it’s a fun start! Learned a lot about keeping the scene static, the value of a tripod, and selecting the best frames for merging. Processed with DxO PhotoLab and merged in Affinity Photo.

Check out the image! Let me know what you think or share your tips for focus stacking. Would love to hear from others who've tried this technique! 🙌
