🎙️ I often get asked what else goes into being a voice-over artist beyond the voice itself...

For me, it’s quite a lot!

I bring two other key skills into the booth with me:
✍️ I’m a copywriter, and
🎧 I’m an audio producer.

That means I don’t just read a script—I understand how to shape one for flow, tone, and clarity. And when I record, I’m thinking about how it all fits together with music, SFX, and timing. It helps me deliver voiceovers that aren’t just well-performed—they’re aligned with the entire creative vision.

Whether it’s a straight voice track or a fully produced audio project, I love being part of the process from start to finish.

It’s not just what I say—it’s how it all comes together. 🎤✨

Pinch and a Punch! First day of the month—couldn’t resist! 😆 Hope April is off to a great start for you!

March wrapped up with my Wedding Anniversary and my Birthday—shhh, I’m only 52! 🎉

Speaking of age, many assume I only fit the 45+ vocal range, but recently an amazing new agency added me to their talent roster for ages 30–45! Whoohoo! 🎙️

The truth is, as a seasoned Voice Over Artist (with a musical theatre & singing background), I can adjust my tonality to suit a wide range of ages. So, when hiring a VO artist, don’t just go by age—our voices are versatile!

Today alone, I’ve voiced 3 Spotify ads for Woolworths, Domaine Homes, several explainer videos & a stack of ON HOLD messages... and the day is still young (unlike me 😂).

Here at Pookies Production, we focus on providing Professional Voice Overs for all projects to many Production Houses, Agencies, Digital Agencies, Direct Clients and Talent Rosters.

Anthony and I are Independent Voice Over Artists here in Australia.

Wendy Maree Milich is represented by an Agent in New Zealand Bigmouth Voices and internationally Anthony Milich and Wendy Maree Milich are represented by many other agents and agencies.

The majority of the time we provide Studio Quality Dry/Raw audio for all of our VO Bookings, but being Wendy Maree Milich is also a copy writer and audio producer, some of our clients like us to assist with writing their scripts as well as fully producing their audio.

But mostly, we are providing Dry/Raw Studio Quality Audio to our clients.

Auditions, Casting Calls & Custom Demos – It’s All Part of the Gig!

For full-time voice actors like us, auditions are a constant. Some days, they stack up faster than coffee cups in a busy café! But honestly? I love it. The busier, the better—that’s how I work, and that’s how I thrive.

Of course, booked voice-over sessions always come first—that’s non-negotiable. Time management in the studio is everything, making sure I deliver for clients while also leaving room for those unexpected moments.

And trust me, there are always unexpected moments! Like yesterday, when an agency needed an urgent custom demo. I dropped what I was doing, jumped in the booth, and got it recorded—and guess what? I booked the job!

Sometimes, timing is everything. That’s why I’ll always be ready for urgent and fast castings, custom demos, and VO bookings.

Wouldn’t have it any other way!
