Taylor Marine Exhaust Solutions were recently involved with the major re-fit of Sydney Ports pilot boat, PV SEVER.
Dave's team at Taranto Marine Engineering did a fantastic job with fitting 2 x brand new Scania DI16 070M 16L 615hp @ 1800rpm state of the art V8 marine engines. Dave and his squad were extremely professional and great to work with, as usual. Awesome result Dave!👍
Mark and his crew at Pacific Marine Engineering did a good job with the custom made hot stainless steel pipe work to suit, utilising the Scania factory bellows and mixer heads. They made a template of the engine room and used a real engine for us to work off in their shed at Cromer! Great Job Mark!👍
Taylor Marine Exhaust were set the task to make the custom built heavy duty commercial vinyl ester water lift dual chamber silencers. We kicked it out of the park, exceeding all requirements, with low exhaust outlet noise for crew comfort, low engine back pressure for important efficient fuel consumption and maximum engine performance that's required for the very dangerous work these boats must perform in any sea conditions.
Taylor Marine Exhaust Solutions: quiet, efficient, reliable, dependable in any situation.
Our Australian made vinyl ester wet exhaust systems are manufactured to order to the highest standard and we specialise in custom solutions. Materials used are premium, fit for purpose, fire retardant, chemical and corrosion resistant, non-porous, high heat tolerant, Hetron FR992 vinyl ester wet exhaust glass reinforced resin with fitted stainless steel crush rings in all clamped inlet/outlet tails. All silicone joiners and hump hose connections are SAE J2006 R3 Marine Wet Exhaust Certified. Taylor solutions exceed all Lloyd’s, USL, DNV, ABS, NSCV, Defence and AMSA survey requirements.
For AMSA commercial vessel survey records, proof of fit for purpose materials used are now required due to other manufacturers using non fit for purpose porous polyester and porous epoxy resins. Taylor Marine Exhaust solutions supply fire retardant Hetron FR992 vinyl ester wet exhaust resin batch numbers with all commercial and Defence vessel orders for proof of fit for purpose materials used complying to AMSA survey requirements.
We'll keep you posted with the next 2 Sydney Ports pilot boats to be re-fitted soon: PV Sharp and PV Sinclair.
The videos are of PV SEVER, and demonstrate what extreme conditions these boats endure in open ocean off Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay.
