Nearly 7 years ago, we were asked by Aus Ships to design and make custom made vinyl ester wet exhaust systems for the brand new 4th generation Brisbane River City Cats.
The brief from Rob Mulrine at Aus Ships was simple, must be as quiet as possible with maximum engine efficiency and performance.
Taylor Marine Exhaust Solutions exceeded all expectations with our proven vinyl ester water lift dual chamber separator silencer concepts.
Main engines used are the very reliable Cummins 750hp QSM 11. The ferries are 27m long, carry 170 passengers, and have a top cruising speed of 25 knots.
The 10th ferry was just launched last month, November 2025.
These latest state of the art ferries are a fantastic achievement, designed and built in house at Aus Ships in Brisbane to Lloyd's and AMSA survey requirements. It was a pleasure to work closely with their naval architects and boat builders for best outcomes possible.
