Coming home from a full dayâs work, flopping down on the couchâŠand noticing that washing is still laying around like the lucky sleeping cat;
there are cobwebs hanging from the ceiling like you are the Addams family;
youâve forgotten to do the groceries đ„ and your kids are starving and letting you know about it? đđđ
But youâve still got more to do; and itâs not over until that lady singsâŠor until youâve done
đdinner,
đđœ bath,
đ bed for the kids, AND prepped for tomorrowâs lunches, work needs and possibly said a quick âhiâ to the hubbyâŠ!
Cue overwhelm!!
But seriously, itâs no wonder we feel we âloseâ our identity as mums.
No wonder our own sense of peace & âselfâ takes such a big hit that we feel like weâve waved goodbye to ourselves - like we waved at the rubbish truck, then the coffee machine at work, and listened to the Wiggles for years.
đ«ŁI mean, really, who needs us to have a sense of self, anyway?
Doesnât everyone feel like this?
Women everywhere are feeling the pressure of work, parenting, and giving up our identities so we can become autobots who can do it allâŠ
âŠbut what about when it isnât working?
What about when you realise you let it go too far, and youâve totally lost it, with no idea who you are or how to listen to that inner voice anymore?
Re-discovering your Identity and remembering your own worth is crucial to continuing with grace, not burning out; and holding those healthy boundaries around yourself as you interact with your children and everyone else.
