Fabulous “Morning Melodies” at Queens Park Theatre with “Good Vibrations,” a five-piece barefooted Beach Boys tribute band, perfectly replicating those glorious soul-stirring harmonies we all used to sing along with on the “wireless!”
“Fun fun fun till her daddy takes the T-Bird away, Barbara-Anne, Little Surfer Girl, God Only Knows, Little Deuce Coupe, Kokomo,” plus a history of the Beach Boys, shared by all five performers. Point of difference being the classically beautiful Zalia Joi out front, in a long vintage dress, hibiscus tucked behind her ear. This ensemble has worked long and hard to perfect the BB harmonies, so the concert was truly a feast for the ears (delicious morning tea beforehand notwithstanding! Thanks to Friends of Queen’s Park Theatre.)
Give me Geraldton any day. ( Saw the show selling for around $52 in Perth. Here? $30! Plus bounteous morning tea. See what I mean?🙃)

What to do on a sunny Saturday in beautiful downtown Gero? Head on down to the merry-go-round by the sea, under the Moreton Bay fig at Regional Sounds. Petit Remi open for coffee and French pastries. Head upstairs at 1pm for an hour of original music (free!) from one of Geraldton’s most respected guitar educators, David Stinson. This accomplished musician will showcase some of the heartfelt songs he’s written over half a century ( a catalogue of over 400 original compositions) as a professional musician in both the US and Australia.
