Salem is so much more than just Halloween 👻✨

If you only visit for the witch trial history, you’re missing the best part - the cozy cafés tucked into historic buildings, candlelit streets after dark, and the surprisingly good food scene between all the spooky stops.

A few things that made my trip way better:
• Salem is super walkable, so stay central and explore slowly
• The vibe completely changes at night - even outside October
• Early mornings are the best time to experience the town before day-trippers arrive

There’s something about Salem’s shops that pulls you in…🧙‍♀️

The shops in Salem are next level - not just souvenirs, but crystals, tarot decks, potion-looking candles, and little handcrafted pieces that all feel tied to the town’s energy.
It’s hard to walk through without picking something up.

still don’t know how I feel about this place… 👀

The Ouija Board Museum is exactly what it sounds like - a space filled with old spirit boards and the history behind how they became such a cultural obsession. It’s small, but the energy in there is definitely… something.

This town has a reputation for a reason…

It’s not just the witch trial stuff you see online - the whole town leans into its history.

You’ve got old streets, eerie little corners, quirky museums, and this constant reminder that a lot happened here.

It’s equal parts interesting and a bit unsettling as you walk around.

New Zealand has way too many places that don’t feel real 🇳🇿

It’s one of those countries where every drive feels like a completely different world - fjords, glaciers, lakes, mountains… all within the same trip.

If you’re planning to go, don’t just rush between the big spots. The real magic is:

• the random viewpoints you’ll pull over for
• how quickly the scenery changes
• and how nothing ever looks the same for long
