Doing anything while living with a chronic illness is a double-edged sword.
I’m never not in pain, so if I waited until I felt well enough to do the things I love… they’d never happen.
Market Day meant days of preparation, a huge set-up, and a long day on my feet. And honestly? I absolutely love it. For a little while, it makes me feel like me again. Like I’m still part of the world.
But it comes at a very real cost.
I haven’t slept in 48 hours because of the pain. I maxed out my medication just to get through the day, and even with so much help from the people around me, it was a struggle. The moment I got home and felt “safe,” my body simply gave out. My nervous system feels like it’s on fire, and the physical crash always brings a heavy mental one too.
I cried for hours.
Thankfully, I was surrounded by my family, and today we pick ourselves up and keep going.
This week is dedicated entirely to rest. Tristan will be handling all orders while I recover, and I’m hoping to have enough sparkle back to celebrate The Raven’s Chest’s 1st Birthday Live with you all on the 30th. 🖤🫶🏻
