This afternoon, at approximately 4 o'clock, a fire broke out at the English's Bridge Streamside Reserve, prompting a swift and coordinated response from the Axedale, Elmore and Goornong Fire Brigades, alongside aerial support.
The blaze, reportedly originating from an uncontrolled campfire, quickly spread across an area roughly 100 meters by 50 meters.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of the fire crews, supported by Police and Forest Fire Management Victoria, the flames were brought under control before the situation could escalate further. Their decisive actions undoubtedly averted what could have been a far more serious calamity.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation by the relevant authorities. Let this serve as a reminder of the critical importance of fire safety, particularly during the warmer months when the risk of bushfires is heightened.
