Having concerns around data security and privacy is common when using AI, and rightfully so.

Here are 3 things to help manage the risk:
• Toggle off helping to improve AI models (this can be found in your privacy settings and is applicable across multiple AI platforms including ChatGPT and Claude)
• Be aware that deleting a chat doesn’t delete it from the saved memories. (You can check and edit stored memories under capabilities in Claude and Profile memory settings in ChatGPT)
• De-identify your data. Remove any confidential and identifying data before it hits the chat.

I ran a workshop last week focusing on using AI in the Farm Office. Almost 300 people signed up and over 120 were online live.

After showing a simple demo of how you can utilise Claude or ChatGPT to go from handwritten notes to a spreadsheet and then showcasing what’s possible with a few examples of app builds, the room saw real value in how AI can be utilised on farm. Both in the office and in the paddock.

Context and details are some of the most important things you can provide your chosen AI platform in order to make it useful for your specific business.

I like to think of it as a new employee. Regardless of what business you run, you give a new employee some sort of induction and training on the details of your business and how it runs. That’s exactly how you should treat your AI platform.

There are so many use cases where AI can be helpful in your livestock business.

From tracking weights, treatment data, compliance checks and general farm admin, it helps to build a system that supports you. Saving you time and helping to manage the 101 tabs open in your brain.

One thing I absolutely know though is that it can’t replicate human creativity. Find a template on canva. Find a small rural biz to support. Not only will your business thank you but so will theirs.
