I’m incredibly lucky to have grown up surrounded by strong women. My grandmother had me bushwalking and heading off on overnight hikes before I’d even finished primary school. Dementia has taken a lot from her, but I treasure those memories and the sense of adventure she gave me.

And then there’s my Mum. She’s shown me, through every stage of life, what real love and support looks like – showing up day in and day out, in all the little ways that matter most. She’s my best friend, and the example she set for me has shaped so much of who I am.

I’ve also been lucky to be surrounded by so many incredible mother figures over the years, including many of my closest friends. They’re a huge part of why I care so deeply about community and the work I do.

Those who know me know I wear approximately one million hats at any given time, but being Mum to Isla and Remy is my absolute favourite. I love what I do, and getting to bring my babies along for the ride as The Bumblebee grows has been pretty special.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mums, grandmothers, stepmums, carers and mother figures out there today. And for those who find today difficult, I’m thinking of you too 🐝💛
