With one small pawprint, positive change begins. 🐾💜

We are excited to announce that on 12 September 2025, His Honour, the Administrator, declared assent to the Animal Protection and Related Legislation Amendment Act 2025 (Act No. 22 of 2025)  - and it has now been officially gazetted. 📰✨

This landmark law strengthens protections for animals and our furry companions across the Northern Territory - a step we have worked and advocated so hard for, in honour of our beloved Princess Evie and for all innocent lives lost 🌈💜.

The timing could not be more fitting. On this National Pet Memorial Day, as we pause to remember the lives of cherished pets who have crossed the rainbow bridge, we also celebrate this lasting change.

Evie’s legacy will continue to guide us - ensuring that pets are treated with the respect, love and safety they truly deserve. 🐾💜

🌸💜 13th September – A very Special Day of Significance 🐾

Its our first anniversary🎉 🥳

Today marks 18 months since our gorgeous Princess Evie died 🐾💔 and was the reason why we launched Evies Bark 12 months ago!

In just one year, we are so proud of what we have achieved - raising awareness, inspiring positive change to protect our furbabies and being a supportive network for pet guardians who too have lost a precious furbaby within the pet boarding industry. 🐾✨

Evie’s legacy will continue to shine bright - raising awareness and driving positive changes to protect our furbabies now and into the future. 💜🐶

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has stood with us on this journey. This has been one of the hardest things we have ever done, but your support has helped us through the hardest days and will continue to inspire us to advocate for the necessary changes needed to keep our furbabies safe. 🌈

As we reflect, we are looking forward with hope and determination to see what the future brings. We know there is still so much more to do - and together, we can make change 💜🐾

Today we’re reminded to pause, check in and ask “Are you OK?”

Grief, loss and life’s challenges can feel heavy at times - but no one should carry them alone.

At Evie’s Bark, we believe in kindness, connection and being a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves as well as being a support network for pet guardians in their time of loss.

We will be forever grateful to everyone who has been such a huge support to us following Evie’s death. 💜🐾

We are beyond proud to share that the Animal Welfare Act and Related Legislation Amendments Bill 2025 has officially been PASSED in the Northern Territory Parliament today! 🙌🐾

Dean attended Parliament to witness this incredible moment, and we’ve just finished watching the recording together 💜

Hearing the words “The I’s have it” and knowing the Bill was unanimously agreed to was unforgettable.

Tonight, as we reflect on the 1 year, 5 months and 19 days since we lost our gorgeous Princess Evie, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support we've received on this journey. 💜

Please, give your own furbabies the biggest hugs tonight… for Evie, for all the lives we've lost and for their brighter future. 🌈🐾 Thanks to this Bill, they are now safer than ever. 🐶🐱

🐾💔 21 Precious Lives Lost

We are deeply heartbroken to learn about the devastating tragedy at a boarding kennel in Argyle, New York, where 21 beloved dogs lost their lives on 24th August 😥

Our thoughts are with families who entrusted their precious companions to this facility, only to be met with unimaginable grief. 🌈🐾

Just like with our Princess Evie (and the many other innocent lives lost that we have learned about over the last 18 months), we know there are no words to describe the moment you receive that call - the shock, the tears, the pain and the continued grief and heartbreak are all too real. 💔

Their deaths have been attributed to a combination of inadequate water supply and a failed or disabled ventilation system. Authorities have determined these conditions led to suffocation, resulting in the deaths of the dogs. One dog survived the ordeal and was taken to an emergency clinic for treatment 💔

The owners of the facility have been charged with 22 misdemeanor counts, including overdriving, torturing, injuring animals and failing to provide proper sustenance 😠 😡

Tragedies like these remind us why Evie's Bark exists - to advocate, raise awareness and push for stronger protections, higher standards and real accountability for the pet boarding industry. Evie's Bark is also a safe place to offer support and for victims to connect. 🐾💜

Families are grieving after 21 dogs died at a New York boarding facility, leaving owners heartbroken and demanding answers.
