🐾 Behind the Fluff — The Orange Incident

Every now and then it helps to look behind the scenes at Mitsy’s ongoing discoveries.

There was the discovery of an orange object —

which, without warning…
began to move.

It was not thrown.
It was not touched.

And yet…

It bounced.
It spun.
It appeared to attack the lounge room tiles.

Initial observations suggested
this may, in fact, be a situation.

A cautious investigation followed.

Distance was maintained.
Eyes remained fixed.
Decisions were carefully considered.

Courage… was building.

And then, quite suddenly —

The investigation escalated.

Contact was made.
Moves were exchanged.
The object resisted… briefly.

But in the end,
there was only one possible outcome.

Victory. 🐾✨

The orange object has since been subdued
and reclassified…

as a toy. 🧡

🐾 It started with one crinkle…
and now I have a new life purpose.

I have made a very important discovery.

There is a thing in my house… and it is AMAZING.

At first, I was suspicious.
It made strange crinkly noises.
It moved when I touched it.
I wasn’t sure if it was friend… or chaos.

So naturally… I chased it.

And then I chased it again.

And then I realised…

IT IS BOTH.

It crunches when I bite it.
It slides away when I pounce .
It runs across the floor like it’s trying to escape me (it never does).

And the best part?

I can play fetch with it… even when the humans are busy.

I throw it.
I chase it.
I WIN.

Sometimes… I even run very fast with it…
and then accidentally drop it mid-zoomies.

(It’s fine. I get it again.)

I now carry my bottle proudly everywhere as my greatest treasure.
Some dogs have toys…

I have discovered the ultimate game.

You may call it a plastic bottle.

I call it… perfection.

🐾 Behind the Fluff — Security, Snacks & Love

Every now and then it helps to look behind the scenes at Mitsy’s recent discoveries.

There was the discovery of a magpie —
who wandered into the yard with an unusual level of confidence…
as if he lived here.

He does not. 🐦

A very serious stare-off followed.
Positions were held.
Intentions were unclear.

Until, quite suddenly…
turbo zoomies were activated.

The situation resolved itself quickly.
The magpie remembered he could fly.

Backyard security has since been restored.

Not long after, a different kind of discovery was made…

The unmistakable sound of a snack bag.

No movement goes unnoticed.
No crinkle goes unheard.
Response time is immediate. 👀

And of course…

A reminder that even on Valentine’s Day,
between security duties and snack surveillance,

it always ends the same way —

Curled up on the couch,
calm, content…
and very loved. ❤️

🌙 Important overnight update…

After graduating from Puppy Preschool, I went to bed feeling a little disappointed.

Mostly because my wizard outfit did not result in learning any actual wizardry.

However…

During the night I had a very important dream.

In this dream, I had graduated from Wizard School.

The proper kind.

With robes, spells, and highly advanced snack magic.

My first spell was:

✨ Treatus Multiplicatus
(turning one treat into many treats)

I also successfully practiced:

🎾 Ballus Appearus
(the sudden appearance of tennis balls)

and

🪄 Cupboardus Openus
(a very advanced spell involving the treat cupboard)

The experiments were extremely successful.

Unfortunately when I woke up this morning…

the treats were gone,
the tennis balls had vanished,
and the treat cupboard was once again closed.

This suggests my wizard powers may currently only work while sleeping.

Further training will continue tonight.

For scientific purposes.

Today I graduated from Puppy Preschool.

I worked very hard learning important things like
“sit”, “stay”, and “leave that mysterious thing alone.”

Apparently these are considered very important skills.

I even received my very own Graduation Certificate.

However… I do have one small concern.

I wore my wizard outfit to class the entire time.

Which means I was fully expecting to also learn
✨ actual wizardry.

Unfortunately, after careful review of the curriculum, it appears the class only covered:

• sitting politely
• walking nicely on a lead
• not stealing snacks

At no point did we learn:

• how to turn treats into unlimited treats
• how to make tennis balls appear from thin air
• or how to magically open the treat cupboard

I feel this may be a serious oversight in the program.

Despite this minor disappointment, I am still very proud of my graduation.

But I will be continuing my independent wizard training immediately.

For educational purposes.

🐾 Behind the Fluff — Recent Discoveries

Every now and then it helps to look behind the scenes at Mitsy’s recent discoveries.

There was the discovery of the couch — soft, cozy, and quickly approved as the official headquarters for planning important adventures.

Not long after, something bright rolled into view.

A tennis ball.

Fetch was discovered… and immediately became a very serious activity.

Soon Mitsy realised tennis balls are not the only things worth retrieving.
Colourful rings work just as well for a professional fetcher.

Then one day an unidentified round creature entered the kingdom.

Security protocols were activated.
Barks were issued.
Investigations were conducted.

The intruder — now identified as Effy the robot vacuum — has been allowed to stay.

Under supervision, of course.

And through all of these discoveries, one thing has remained constant.

At the end of every adventure, Mitsy returns to her favourite mat…

with her favourite ball.

🐾 Unexpected discovery during today’s backyard research…

While conducting my usual running and ball experiments, I encountered something very small with a VERY big attitude.

My green and pink ball had rolled near a little pile of dirt in the grass. Naturally, I ran over to retrieve it as quickly as my fluffy legs could go.

This is when the unexpected part of the experiment happened.

Something tiny bit my paw.

At first I thought maybe the grass had pinched me.
But no.

The humans later explained that it was something called… an ant.

Apparently ants are extremely small creatures that live in dirt piles and sometimes bite curious puppies conducting important scientific research.

I can confirm that ants may be tiny…

…but they have surprisingly strong opinions about dogs standing near their homes.

Conclusion: the backyard is still excellent for running, exploring, and playing fetch.

However, future experiments will include careful monitoring of suspicious dirt piles.

🐾 Important discovery today…

My backyard is MUCH bigger than I realised.

Obviously this required a full investigation.

While exploring, I spotted my green and pink ball sitting in the grass. This meant it was time to begin an important scientific experiment called fetch.

First I ran across the lawn as fast as my fluffy legs could go.
Then I grabbed the ball.
Then I ran back.

Then I repeated the experiment several more times to confirm the results.

Conclusion: my backyard is the perfect place for running, exploring, and playing fetch.

Further testing will continue for the rest of the day.

My backyard is VERY big.

So naturally I had to test it with my green and pink ball.

Run.
Chase.
Bring ball back.

Repeat several times for scientific accuracy.

Conclusion: this backyard is perfect for fetch.

I will continue testing immediately.
