Hi, I’m Nika,

The face behind Capture & Cherish.

Like so many mums, I realised just how quickly the little moments disappear. The tiny hands, the funny sayings, the milestones, the everyday memories we swear we’ll never forget… until life gets busy.

That’s why I created Capture & Cherish.

I wanted to give mums a simple way to preserve the moments that matter most. A beautiful digital keepsake journal to capture the memories, milestones and stories of motherhood before they fade with time.

Because one day, our babies won’t be so little anymore. And these everyday moments will become the memories we treasure the most.

Capture & Cherish is more than a journal. It’s a place to celebrate motherhood, reflect on the journey, and create something you’ll love looking back on for years to come.

I’m so happy you’re here, and I can’t wait to be part of preserving your family’s story. ✨

I remember that first soccer game like it was yesterday.

A ‘Pilbara Cool’ morning. The season just starting to shift.

That kind of weather where everything feels a little crisp and new.

He was nervous and excited all at once.

Standing there in his little kit, trying to look brave before the game had even started.

Playing for the same soccer team I once played for made it feel even more surreal.

Different years, same field, same beginning.

And then it began.

The first kick. The chasing. The laughter in between.

Learning to pass instead of doing it all alone.

Calling out to teammates. Slowly understanding it wasn’t just about him.

And somewhere in the middle of all that running around, I saw it…

confidence building, moment by moment.

Not just in the game.

In him. 🥹

Such a small beginning…

and somehow, such a big step.

I don’t always feel like I have this figured out.

Motherhood.
Life.
Even building something alongside it. 🥴

I’m still learning as I go.

But I do know why I started.

My family. It always comes back to them. 🫶🏼

Because I kept noticing how quickly the small moments disappear if you don’t hold onto them.

And I wanted to create something that helps other parents feel a little less alone in that.

I remember that first year of school like it was yesterday.

Walking my oldest in, holding his hand a little tighter than usual.

Watching him disappear into a world that suddenly wasn’t mine anymore.

And then the walk home. Without him.

I remember thinking I should be used to it by now.

But every morning felt like letting go all over again.

And then he started coming home different.

Telling stories before I even asked.

Talking about friends like they’d always been there.

Bringing home pieces of a world he was learning to belong to.

The brave little steps.

The growth confidence.

The way he slowly grew into himself.

And I was watching it all happen… just.

After the NICU, I thought I understood what “precious moments” meant.

Then toddlerhood arrived 🥳

And everything became noise and laughter and motion and mess.

The agreeable little moments, then suddenly learning the word “no.”

The tiny tantrums that weren’t really anger, just frustration at not having the words yet.

The sweet little laughs that come out of nowhere and fill the whole house.

The kind of days that feel endless… until you realise they won’t be.

And suddenly, even the chaos feels like something to hold onto. 🫶🏼

With my twins, I didn’t get the newborn moments I imagined.

I got alarms instead of lullabies.

Machines instead of quiet rooms.

Hands smaller than anything I had ever held before.

The NICU became our beginning.

Every milestone felt different there.

Every gram gained mattered.

Every “good day” felt like everything.

I used to think memories were made in big, beautiful moments.

But sometimes they’re made in survival.

In waiting.

In watching tiny chests rise and fall and trying not to blink too much.

Those were our first memories.

And I didn’t want them to fade the way some memories do.

What my day looked like 👇🏼

Cheeky grubby little faces,

Dusty, red dirt footprints throughout the house,

Toys scattered everywhere

Sticky little fingers and no idea how they got that way.

Messy, chaotic, exhausting…

Honestly?

I wouldn’t trade it for anything ✨

✨ I try to pause in the middle of it sometimes ✨

Because this is it.

The noise.

The mess.

The tiny hands grabbing mine while I try to do everything at once.

It won’t always be like this.

So I try not to rush through it.

I didn’t realise these were the moments I’d want back one day.

✨My name on their tiny voice.
✨That look of admiration and a sweet smile that felt endless.
✨The way they ran to me like nothing else mattered.
✨The worlds they built from pure imagination.
✨The weight of them asleep on my chest.

Some things don’t feel big until they’re gone…

I used to think photos were enough…

Until I looked back at these newborn photos and realised how much I had already forgotten.

Not the big moments 🤩

The small ones 🫶🏼

✨The way their fingers wrapped around mine, only knowing comfort in me.
✨The funny little phrases they used to say.
✨The tiny routines that once felt so ordinary.

Memory is strange like that. The moments you promised yourself you will never lose are often the first to fade.

That’s why we started building this.

Because childhood doesn’t disappear overnight.

It fades away slowly, through thousands of tiny, unrecorded moments.

And those moments deserve to be remembered too.
