Wildman Adventures has been on everyone’s lips since his fight yesterday.
We are not the boxing/fight type of people but we respect what the training and learnings can do for the soul.
What we do love, is that Damo put his money where his mouth (glove) is and stood up to a bully.
That 47 seconds to knock down in the first round, proved that you can do anything you put your mind to.
You can absolutely prove people wrong.
You can put your mind to a challenge and come out on top, even when people call you the ‘underdog’.
You absolutely can change your own stars.
And Damo has done that.
From his wild life, to his first episode with us, to now, he’s like a diamond, forged under pressure.
Shine bright mate, shine bright! 💎❤️🐦‍⬛

Started reminiscing and going through old files.

~ Megan

Feeling reflective!
As my contract with the DFSV Prevention Division comes to an end and I move onto something else, I feel so grateful to have spent a millisecond in time on a path we will be walking for many more generations to come.
When I asked Grandma Crow about her time setting up the first Katherine Women’s Crisis Centre (as it’s now known) at her house in the 80’s.. and how she feels things have changed… she said (I wrote it down so I can quote directly)..
“I won’t see any improvement in my time, nor will you in yours, but many years down the track we will have left our footprints on the well worn path of stamping out this fu***ng scourge on society and maybe one life will be saved. And that’s enough for me.”
Thanks Grandma, for paving the way for the women and children that needed a friend in their time of need ❤️

*pic of a card given to me when I started in this division, by a woman that has changed the way we do our work. I pull it out and read it regularly to remember that we do what we do because we are humans caring for humans

**I’m moving into a training role, so I will continue to advocate for victim survivors and I won’t stay silent

Happy 50th wedding anniversary to Mum & Dad!
A copy and paste from 7 years ago by Toni Tapp Coutts with some great photos from the wedding!

Married this handsome Scotsman on this day 43 years ago, at the family home, Killarney Station. 275 kms south west of Katherine.
Over 260 people travelled the dusty red road, cars piled high with swags and best clothes in plastic bags.
The who’s who of the Territory attended along with my grandmother Glad Forscutt and Great Grandmother from NSW.
We got married on the front veranda and danced the night away with fire drums flickering warmth.
The next day people crawled out of their swags to mum ringing the breakfast siren while the then leader of the NT Legislative Assembly Goff Letts (pre self government days) and my Uncle Jim Forscutt cooked 100s of steak and eggs on the barbecue and many popped the top off a ‘heart starter’ b**r or rum.
The men were taken on a tour of the stud cattle and horses and the women fed kids and packed up the swags. The final guest left a week later!
That was the real Outback Wedding.
My bridesmaids - cousins Robyn and Vicki Forscutt and sister Shing Tapp. Groomsmen were stock inspector Gavin MacDonald, horse trainer Tom Sheehan and brother Billy Tapp.
Bagpipes played by my brothers friend Chris Atkinson from Scots College Sydney.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Shaun Coutts. X###x
