Ergon Energy crews are responding to power outages after a storm rolled through Rockhampton. Outages have been reported for streets in the Berserker, Koongal and North Rockhampton areas, with traffic lights out on Thozet Road. There is also another outage affecting Frenchville's Duthie Ave, French Avenue and Honour St.

Ergon is also responding to another power outage on the Capricorn Coast, affecting streets in Lammermoor, Rosslyn, Statue Bay, Taranganba, Taroomball and Yeppoon. Hail has been reported at Yeppoon, including near St Brendan's College.

Outages have also been reported at Barmoya, Canoona, Glen Geddes, Glendale, Glenlee, Kunwarara, Marlborough, Milman, Parkhurst, Princhester, Rockyview, Rossmoya, The Caves, Wattlebank and Yaamba.

The Bureau of Meteorology has posted a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for LARGE HAILSTONES, DAMAGING WINDS and HEAVY RAINFALL, affecting parts of Central Coast and Whitsundays, Central Highlands and Coalfields and Capricornia Forecast Districts.

Locations which may be affected include Rockhampton, Yeppoon, St Lawrence, Sarina, Byfield and Marlborough.

Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.

Rocky Sports Club co-founder Gavin Shuker has hit back at claims the club's proposed stadium had "no prospect of being commenced in the near future" after it was confirmed last week the project would not be funded by the Federal Government.
