Bethel Church in Redding, California, has announced it is cutting ties with four prominent ministers: Mike Bickle, Shawn Bolz, Todd Bentley, and Bob Hartley.
The Charismatic megachurch said its endorsement "carries real weight and responsibility" and that it cannot platform anyone with "proven patterns of behavior that do not align with biblical standards."
Bickle, founder of IHOPKC, stepped away in 2023 due to credible sexual abuse allegations. Bolz has faced accusations including sexual harassment.
Bentley has a troubled past and unconventional methods.
Hartley was restricted previously and is now formally disassociated. Bethel emphasized that while restoration should always be pursued, reinstatement requires wisdom, stewardship, and rebuilding trust.
The church is implementing third party reviews of its governance and culture following recent scandals, including allegations against its prophetic ministry director.
Bethel said it is committed to "showing real change through our actions." This is a positive step toward accountability.
