Briar Ridge – Mount View, Hunter Valley

Nestled in the Mount View region, holds the largest family-owned vineyards in the area, producing 9,500 dozen wines each year. The elevated sites, with rich red volcanic soil and limestone, create wines of outstanding character and quality.

Established in 1972, the vineyard’s foundations are steeped in tradition, while its innovation shines through in alternative varietals and modern winemaking. Briar Ridge is a Halliday Red Star Winery, consistently producing exemplary wines – including the award-winning 2024 Dairy Hill Chardonnay, named Best Chardonnay in Australia at the Halliday Chardonnay Challenge.

Standout drops include the Dairy Hill Shiraz with red fruit and spice, the crisp Dairy Hill Semillon, the aromatic Albarino, and the bold Ampelus Argilla Syrah Tempranillo blend. Visitors can enjoy tastings guided by knowledgeable staff inside the old winery or on the Wine Deck overlooking the gardens and valley.
