🚨 I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS DAY FOR YEARS. 🚨
Today, Bek and I have formally ended our relationship with Advocacy Australia.
And I cannot adequately explain the relief I feel finally being able to say that publicly.
We will always acknowledge the support Advocacy Australia provided in the beginning. But being grateful for past support does not mean staying silent about behaviour that became completely unacceptable.
For me, one moment in particular has stayed with me.
Late at night on 11 July 2024, just three days after the fourth anniversary of Biddy’s murder, Ms Collins rang me and, for six and a half minutes, berated me over the phone.
Six and a half minutes.
Late at night.
Three days after the anniversary of my 10-year-old daughter’s murder. 💔
And it wasn’t an isolated incident.
Over the years, I received a number of abusive phone calls from Ms Collins.
I have stayed silent about that publicly for more than two years.
There were other issues as well.
I was excluded from podcast and media opportunities involving my own daughter’s story.
People who were there supporting our family were spoken to in a way we considered rude and disrespectful, and we were extremely unhappy with the way our lawyer was treated.
Then there was an incident I will never forget.
Advocacy Australia lodged a copyright infringement complaint over the photograph of Biddy that was being used as the profile picture of this page.
As a result, Biddy’s photograph was removed from her own Justice for Biddy page.
Let that sink in.
An organisation supposedly advocating for our family took action that resulted in my murdered daughter’s photograph being removed from the page created to fight for her.
That was Biddy’s face. ❤️
On Biddy’s page.
I should never have had to fight an organisation that was supposedly supporting us just to have my daughter’s photograph representing the campaign being fought in her name.
Then came Biddy’s Coronial Inquest.
And that was the final straw.
A Coronial Inquest into the death of your child is not the time for egos, arguments over seating arrangements, or making the feelings of people who are supposedly there to support you the centre of attention.
On Day 2 of my own daughter’s inquest, I had to leave the courtroom because I could no longer control my emotions.
I felt I was being deliberately baited by Ms Collins at a time when I was already trying to hold myself together while listening to evidence about Biddy’s death.
And I wasn’t alone in witnessing what was happening. A number of members of my support team witnessed the interaction and what led to me leaving the courtroom, including a close friend who is a clinical psychologist.
I should never have been put in a position where I felt I had to walk out of my own daughter’s inquest because of the behaviour of somebody who was supposedly there to support our family.
Bek and I were there trying to get through one of the most confronting and traumatic experiences any parents could ever face.
Our entire focus should have been on Biddy.
Instead, we found ourselves dealing with behaviour that was rude, insensitive and completely lacking in empathy.
Enough was enough. ✋
Today, Bek and I formally withdrew our consent for Advocacy Australia to make any future use of our names, our images, Biddy’s images, her story or identifying material relating to our family.
Let me make this absolutely fu***ng clear:
❌ Advocacy Australia does not represent us.
❌ Advocacy Australia does not represent Justice for Biddy.
❌ They do not speak for our family.
❌ They do not act for us.
This is a decision Bek and I have made together.
And the photograph attached to this post is important.
This is Biddy’s funeral booklet.
That photograph on the front is our daughter.
She was 10 years old.
While adults argued, bullied, berated and made things about themselves, this is the little girl Bek and I were fighting for.
Our daughter. ❤️
I have spent more than six years fighting for her, and I will continue to surround myself with people who genuinely stand beside our family and understand something that should never need explaining:
❤️ THIS IS ABOUT BIDDY.
Not organisations.
Not personalities.
Not egos.
BIDDY.
We are not going to get into a public back-and-forth about this. Advocacy Australia has been formally notified of our decision and the reasons for it in writing.
But we are also not going to stay silent or pretend everything was okay simply because speaking publicly about what happened might make somebody uncomfortable.
It wasn’t okay.
And after years of holding my tongue, I am finally able to say it.
Our focus now goes straight back to where it belongs.
❤️ Bridgette “Biddy” Porter.
My daughter.
Bek’s daughter.
❤️ Her story.
🔎 The truth.
⚖️ Accountability.
🫶 And making sure everything we have endured makes the road a little easier for the families who come after us.
Justice for Biddy continues. ❤️⚖️
Without Advocacy Australia. 🖕

This one’s for you, Pappa. 🍻❤️
For those who don’t know, Jason Cox — “Pappa Smurf” — was one of my great mates. He supported me, Biddy and this page in a massive way.
But saying he supported me doesn’t come close to explaining what that man did for me.
Jason saved my life.
There were so many late-night phone calls where he would just let me get the anger out. He listened when I needed someone to listen. He was there through some of the darkest moments of my life, when I needed a mate more than I could ever put into words.
He knew what went on behind the scenes. He knew exactly how I felt about all of this, and he knew how much this day would mean to me.
I miss him every fu***ng day. ❤️
I fu***ng wish you were here to see this one, mate.
We finally did it, Pappa. 🍻❤️
This one’s for you.
