Pleasure Class is back! 🍑💦
And as your resident s*xologist, I’m VERY happy to chat today about keeping it juicy (hi ) with adequate st*mulation and added lubr*cation if need be.
And on the topic of adequate stimulation, I wanna break down what that means for p*eps with vulvae!
MOST v^lva-havers need more time to get juicy / puffy for envelopmental readiness than our culture expects generalllyyy due to cultural heteronormativity + phallic-centric sxx (where fast sxx is mostly okay).
This doesn’t mean we are broken, it is very much simply due to normal physiology! Yayyyyy!
Even though the cl*toris is homologous to the pen*s (built from the same embryonic tissues), the arousal job is verrrry different: a pen*s er****on is mainly one organ reaching rigidity, where’s vag*nal readiness is a whole pelvic process..
We have:
Blood flow to multiple tissues (cl*toris + vestibular bulbs + l***a)
Vag*nal-wall lubrication via transudation (fluid moving through tissue as blood flow rises) + glandular lubrication
Internal expansion/space-building (hello comfort)
Which is why it often takes longer for us to be fully ready for envelopmental sxx… more tissues need time to engorge, soften, and become spacious (not just “get wet”)
I’ve popped below a VERY rough timing guide (which varies by person/day):
• 5–10 min: early warmth/fullness, initial lubrication may start
• 10–20 min: deeper engorgement + more reliable lubrication (FOR SOME)
• 15–30 min: many bodies reach clearer “ready” cues (softening, comfort with depth , easier envelopment,)
Stress, pain history, or performance pressure can certainly impact this timing and take even longer, because the nervous system is what truly sets the pacefor our arousal and readiness—we need to be in a parasympathetic activation for arousal to occur.
This doesn’t mean to slip into hyper vigilance, self monitoring, or that there’s anything wrong with you if you are DTF without adequate arousal.. It’s simply permission to check in with YOUR own envelopmental readiness, and to experiment with not overriding your body because of culturally rushed, misinformed expectations.
