En route to New York with her son Maui Hitchens for his appearance in the Broadway Dreams Showcase, RBA’s multi-talented Lisa Brickell was able visit the LA Women in Film Fest for the US premiere of ‘Unlatched’, the short film she wrote and stars in. 🤩🎬✨

‘Unlatched’ evolved from Lisa’s theatre show ‘Shhh!-Mockingbird’ which has been performed across the world. It’s a female story, told by women, with cast and key crew 90% female ‘to champion the themes of the movie and highlight the artistry of women’. 🎬✨🏆

RBA’s Māui Hitchens has achieved at an early age what few aspiring music theatre performers ever do - a Broadway appearance. 🎭✨

The Broadway Dreams Showcase brings together emerging artists from around the world in a special production. Māui was one of only three from Aotearoa New Zealand, selected by judges from the U.S during a New Zealand selection programme. 🙌⭐️

His life-changing trip was partly funded by a NAPTA scholarship. Intense, challenging and hugely rewarding.
Not only that, but the performers were featured on a giant digital sign in Times Square! 🤩⭐️🙌

Screen Awards are back together!🎬🏆

The 2025 NZ Screen Awards on the 21st November warmly welcomed the new celebration of our skills, creativity and talent across screens large and small.

The most poignant moment saw Lee Tamahori’s Best Director award for The Convert just days after his passing, accepted by producer Robin Scholes.

An interesting night for RBA, with Tem Morrison and George Henare competing for the same award, George a popular winner for his supporting role in The Rule of Jenny Pen (and a mighty career before that); and Best Film going to Ka Whawhai Tonu which features Cliff Curtis, Temuera Morrison, and Ria P**i, alongside film debuts for Te Wakaunua Te Kurapa and international award winning beginner Hinerangi Harawira-Nicholas, wrapping with Mike Jonathan in director mode.

And a perfect symbol of the industry’s endurance, tenacity and versatility was the Screen Legend status awarded to Sam Neill at the inaugural NZSA event.

Above all, it was a tribute to everyone involved in telling stories that reach global audiences and building our reputation as a centre of production excellence.

Congratulations too, to the team that made the whole night so memorable!🏆🎬✨

We are proud to celebrate our client Hinerangi Harawira-Nicholas, winner of Best Oceanian Actress at the Septimius Awards 2025 in Amsterdam for her role as Kōpū in Ka Whawhai Tonu. 🌍🎬
The film also received Best Oceanian Film, accepted by director Mike Jonathan.�Hinerangi’s heartfelt speech dedicated to her Aunty and whānau moved the entire audience. 🖤
At just 17, she has already captured international attention — a rising star to watch.

Coming soon to Three and ThreeNow, the Warner Bros. Discovery-backed eight-part series ‘’Tangata Pai’’ is the first primetime drama with a third of the dialogue in te reo Māori.

It tells the stories of five people, whose worlds collide when a bomb is detonated at a peaceful Māori protest against a licence to mine a sacred site.

We are excited to present to you the NEW block of workshops with Joel Tobeck.
We are offering two types of classes:

RBA EXCLUSIVE CLASSES:
A more personalised & close-knit course for our RBA Actors, where you will work intensively with Joel to expand on the knowledge & skills you already have. This aims to challenge our RBA Actor’s to trust their instincts even more.��STARTS: Tuesday 16th September from 6pm-9pm.�LOCATION: The RBA Studio, Suite 1.7, 93 Dominion Road, Mount Eden.

NON-EXCLUSIVE CLASSES:
Joel brings a broad range of skills and experience to the classes that will greatly benefit any actors working to hone their craft. He makes sure that everyone is involved and engaged. Our aim is to support and grow the acting community, helping actors to learn to trust their instincts.

Disclaimer: These classes are NOT an introduction to RBA Management representation.
