💗Looking back over the past ten years, there have been so many conversations I'll never forget.

The conversation when Mum was diagnosed.
The conversations with her oncologist.
The conversations about treatment options, hope and uncertainty.

Today, I'm hoping to create a different kind of conversation. One that:

🧩Helps more women understand the symptoms of ovarian cancer.
🧩Encourages someone to trust their instincts and book an appointment with their GP.
🧩Inspires someone to support ovarian cancer research through the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation.

That's why this campaign is called Start the Chat. Build the Buzz.
Because we never know where one conversation might lead...or whose life it might change.

Every action matters because every action helps build momentum. Some people will learn the symptoms for the first time. Some will decide to support research.

One of the key messages I keep hearing is that nobody knows your body better than you do.

Most of the time, symptoms will turn out to be something quite ordinary but if something feels different, if symptoms persist, or if you have a feeling that something isn't right, don't ignore it.

Start the chat with your GP, and keep chatting until you are satisfied with the outcome.

This campaign is not about creating fear. It's about raising awareness, encouraging conversations and reminding women that they know their own bodies better than anyone else.

As of today, together we've raised $14,879 for ovarian cancer research!

When I launched this campaign, I knew that raising $1 million was an ambitious goal and it wouldn't happen overnight. But every single donation represents another person who believes women deserve an early detection test, better treatment options and better outcomes.

🎯And it reminds me that this campaign is about more than just that fundraising goal.

🧩It's about starting the chat.
🧩It's about building the buzz.
🧩It's about creating momentum for change.

As this campaign grows, I often think about what can happen when more people simply start the chat.

Not because one chat has all the answers, but because every chat has the potential to make a difference.

It might encourage someone to learn the symptoms.

It might give a woman the confidence to book an appointment with her GP.

Or it might introduce someone to this campaign and the research that's giving so many families hope.

When people ask why I'm raising money for ovarian cancer research, this is one of the reasons.

Australia is home to some of the world's leading ovarian cancer researchers. Every day, scientists across the country are working towards earlier detection, better treatments and, ultimately, saving lives.

That gives me so much hope; and it is why every dollar raised through this campaign goes directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) —to support the incredible researchers who are working to change the future for women and their families.

Until then, let's keep starting the chat, building the buzz and backing the research that has the potential to change lives.
