So very proud of Abbie!

We had a travelling disaster with the Koala Cake from Cake Hacks book. We used a Coles chocolate mud cake as that is Emmie’s favourite cake. However, it did not like being on its side and the cake collapsed and became a giant pile of cake and icing mush.

We popped into Coles and grabbed another chocolate mud cake and some decorating supplies on our way to my parent’s house. Abbie came up with a new idea for Emmie’s cake and got to work making it as soon as we arrived.

I think she did a brilliant job to stay calm and not get upset about her beautiful work being ruined. I also think she absolutely smashed it with this super cute flower and bee cake.

This is my 7th cake from the Cake Hacks book.

My favourite part was using the star tip to do the piping. I also piped the eyes and cheeks as well.

Cutting the cookie into the right shape for the noise was a bit hard.

I didn’t use a party hat because I had a number 9 candle and I decided to use a glitter spray to make the koala fancier.

I used chocolate cake because that is my sister Emmie’s favourite and this was for her birthday.

I thought this cake was fun to make and very easy.

* We had a slight travelling disaster with this cake and Abbie needed to quickly make another.

On the weekend we went to in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne.

We have been to a few of these light events over the last few years and while this one was good, it wasn’t quite a good as the others.

The parking was a nightmare and were stuck in parking traffic for a very long time. We eventually had to park in the overflow parking lot and then had to get on the bus provided to get over to the Botanic Gardens. The bus got caught in the same parking traffic as we initially were in so it took quite a long time. The bus driver was fantastic, he clearly was not happy either, and let us all know about it in a humorous way.

The walk through the gardens at night was beautiful and the lights on the trees made it extra special. The other events we have been to had quite a lot more fancy light displays such as flowers or animals. This one was mainly coloured spotlights on trees and it was a bit underwhelming, but still very pretty.

The food truck options were quite small and we opted to get something from the Botanic Gardens kiosk instead. The gingerbread was delicious and the hot chocolate was pretty good too.

We had a lovely time but don’t think we would go again unless more interesting lighting was added.

Every year we go to and absolutely love it. It is the most amazing day looking at all the beautiful flowers while the kids have fun with all the activities and shows that are available.

This year the girls particularly enjoyed the bubble show and we spent a bit of time there. They also loved the fairy hunt and claiming their prize at the end.

Abbie bought her bestie with her which was lovely too. They have an amazing friendship and we love bringing her to all the places with us.

There is a great set up of food vans with a lot of different options. The girls always want poffertjes and the twistie potatoes.

I find this place really peaceful, even though there are a lot of people around. Wandering through the different flowers displays and the sunflower field is very calming and beautiful.

Kids under 16 are free which is a great budget friendly bonus.

There are three things I love to do when school holidays come around.

1. Sleep in

2. Go to Gumbuya World with my kids and some friends

3. Save money by using my Small Ideas membership

$31.50 for general and $21.50 for junior admission.
The waterpark zone will be closed unless their website indicates otherwise for a sporadic warm day but there is so much more to do and see including activities with some Easter fun!

Tineco Floor One S7 Steam Review

I think this floor cleaner is really cool as it has the extra option of using steam to clean your floors with.

I have tried a lot of Tineco hard floor cleaners and they are all quite similar except for a few special features on each model. The Floor One S7 Steam is the first one I have tried with steam.

I really loved this model and think it did a really great clean. I have vinyl flooring and tiles in my house and I found it did a great job on both.

The machine is easy to manoeuvre with self propulsion making it very light and nice to use.

The roller gets very close to the edge, if you run parallel you get closest.

There are 4 modes you can use with this machine which this is amazing as you can choose what suits you best. Auto mode is just like a normal Tineco floor cleaner. Steam mode uses steam to sanitise and clean the floor. Boost steam mode is great for areas which need extra cleaning attention. Suction mode is great for cleaning up spills and wet messes.

This machine uses 140°C hypersteam to sanitise surfaces and eliminate up to 99.99% of bacteria. This is perfect if you have kids, pets, or allergies, as there are no chemicals, just steam sanitising the floors. This also means that you don’t need to purchase cleaning solution which eliminates ongoing costs.

The screen on this model has the iLoop technology which is so helpful. It has a blue/red coloured circle which shows you the debris level coming through the system. The voice prompts are helpful however sometimes I feel like the machine is telling off. When it is low on battery I feel like it is telling my to hurry up 😂 It also lets you know when to empty the dirty water tank, when to run a self clean, and when to empty the dirt canister as well.

The battery time is lower when used on the steam function and I felt a bit rushed when it started telling me I had low battery. However, I have a decent sized house and I was also pretty slow due to just having surgery as well, so I think the battery time is actually pretty good.

The self cleaning function is fantastic. The Multi-Step Self-Cleaning System uses fresh water and high temperatures of hot steam to clean your tineco thoroughly. The automatic drying the eliminates excess water and minimizes odors from brush roller.

The led light on the brush roller is so useful, lighting the way under furniture and showing up every speck of dirt or dust.

The S7 Steam has a RRP of $1199. A 2 year warranty and comes with a spare roller, a spare filter, a cleaning tool and of course a charger and base.
