Itโs amazing to think of how far recording technology has evolved in the last 50 years!
Recording in the modern day can use as little equipment as a phone, or as a more domestic standard, as little as a Microphone, Interface and Computer with Software (with almost an unlimited amount of files that can be recorded)! ๐ฑโ๏ธ
A lot of modern day recording is commonly taken place in isolation (much like 2020 ๐). Itโs not always like this, but many productions take place with drum takes recorded separately, guitar takes recorded separately, so and so on... ๐ธ๐ฅ๐ค
My point of the post is to share a little video of an old school tracking style by one of the biggest bands of the 1960โs (and of all time for that matter)!
I wonโt go on and on, but The Beatles pioneered a lot of new recording technology in their prime era of the 1960โs, and I find it very interesting that a lot of their music was recorded live to 8-Track Tape Machines in one go in the studio, with the revision process of their takes spoken about as soon as the track ends in its entirety (what parts could be better etc). Just a different light of process that you could expect to have when you approach a studio in the modern day! โ๏ธ
I hope if youโve got a few minutes spare you might be able to take a look at the video below and enjoy the comparisons of recording yesteryear to today! ๐ค๐ถ
Thanks Friends, hope youโve all started the year off well! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
