Scientists have discovered that repetitive rhythms can have a calming effect on dogs — reducing stress levels, lowering heart rates, and even decreasing excessive barking.

A study conducted by the University of Glasgow alongside the Scottish SPCA observed that dogs exposed to consistent, predictable sounds appeared noticeably more relaxed within shelter environments.

Interestingly, repetition and rhythm are also fundamental elements of electronic music. The same steady patterns that guide a dancefloor may also create a sense of comfort and calm beyond it.

When Burning Man ended in 2022, more than 80,000 people all had the same idea: leave the desert.

What followed was a 9+ hour Exodus, with thousands of vehicles crawling through dust and heat as the only roads out of Black Rock City became completely overwhelmed.

The line stretched for miles across the Nevada desert, creating one of the most surreal festival traffic scenes ever captured.

After days of dancing, art and complete freedom, the final experience was simply trying to get home.

Before “Move Your Body” became the House Music Anthem, it started with two coworkers at a Chicago post office.

In 1985, Marshall Jefferson created the track while working nights at the post office, with his coworker Curtis McClain adding the unmistakable vocals.

Jefferson began passing cassette copies to DJs around Chicago. Then Ron Hardy got his hands on one and played it at the Music Box — helping turn a record that almost nobody believed in into one of house music’s defining anthems.

Released in 1986, “Move Your Body” helped make piano a defining sound of house music and went from Chicago dancefloors to clubs around the world.

Almost 40 years later, Billboard ranked it No. 1 on its 50 Best House Songs of All Time.

Every year, thousands of Burners, RVs, campers and cars make their way across Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, converging on the entrance to Black Rock City — a temporary city that exists for only a few days. Burning Man itself acknowledges that traffic has become part of the experience, with the opening rush regularly bringing waits of five hours or more.

The scale is almost impossible to understand from the ground. From above, it looks like an entire civilization slowly forming in the middle of the desert.
