Sometimes the best lessons happen off the script.
Coming from Australia, I left my training sticks
behind to avoid airport baggage weight hassles. Grandmaster Henry Espera had me covered—he brought extra gear for us to use, and generously gifted these sticks to me at the end of the RRK training camp.
But the most memorable part of the camp was Mang Henry's urge to share his deep knowledge. He'd regularly call me over while the regular classes were running just to drop next-level, advanced details on me. It got to the point where the instructors would jokingly complain to him, "Mang Henry, basic ang tinuturo tapos bigyan mo agad ng advance!" Haha
It was a brain melt of the best kind, wrapped in great laughs and awesome camaraderie. Huge respect to Grandmaster Henry Evasco Espera for his incredible skills, his generosity, and these sticks!
