Ever painted a red flag green? Or stayed longer than you should have, ignoring the signs?

In this epsiode, Gabby Williamson reflects on a proposal that arrived just as the relationship was ending, revealing how both her and her partner were trying to save something that wasn’t working by upgrading the commitment. She and Ash unpack a familiar unhealthy but all so commonn pattern of moving in, getting engaged, chasing milestones, without pausing to ask if there’s real connection beyond lust and performance. It’s a gentle invitation to choose honesty and true compatibility over simply ticking boxes.

This has been one of the best years of my life. 💫

Not because it was easy, or perfect, but because it asked me to shed.

Old identities. Old belief systems. Old ways of measuring my worth.

What emerged on the other side was something far more meaningful. A deeper comfort in my own skin. A steadiness within myself that doesn’t disappear when life gets loud.

Doing the work doesn’t mean life stops throwing waves at you. It means you learn how to ride them. You soften your grip. You trust your balance. You stop being dragged under every time something shifts.

This year taught me that personal growth isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming home to who you already are, again and again.

I have a deep, unshakeable faith that my life will continue to get better. Not because of what I achieve or accumulate, but because of how present I am inside it.

Success, for me now, looks like connection.
It looks like presence.
It looks like being here for my life as it’s happening.

And that feels richer than anything I used to chase.

Ever pinned your hope on the idea that a baby, a relationship, or a new role would finally make you whole?

My guest this week Gabby Williamson shares on the sliding doors moment her plan to become a solo mum was derailed by rehab... a twist she now feels deeply grateful for. She reflects with hindsight that her environment at the time wasn’t conducive for raising a child. This is a tender reminder that real recovery means healing our own wounds first, not hoping a child will do the mending.

In this two-part episode, I sit down with my close friend Gabby Williamson to lift the lid on the reality of living life in recovery.

In part one of this conversation we talk about how, in her mid thirties, Gabby had everything that was supposed to add up to a good life - an impressive marketing career, a busy social calendar, and a carefully curated image. Behind the scenes, though, she was unraveling, using substances to cope with unresolved pain, mounting pressure, and a growing sense of disconnection from herself.

Gabby shares the story of what happened when her life finally collided with the truth. She talks about hitting rock bottom and entering rehab at 39, and how that experience became the doorway to resilience, gratitude, and a completely new way of living. Her journey stretches back to childhood challenges, early substance use, and the impact of boarding school on her sense of identity, tracing how those early wounds shaped the choices she made in adulthood.

Ash and Gabby explore the realities of navigating concerts, parties, and dating in recovery, and what it means to show up to those spaces without the old crutches. Gabby reflects on past relationships, the societal expectations that kept her performing a role, and the ongoing work of embracing her authentic self. She also speaks about motherhood, the weight of her decisions, and the profound growth that comes with redefining love, intimacy, and connection through a sober lens.

In this episode, Ash reflects on how her childhood dreams to become a star came from a deep soul-level belief that she wasn’t worthy unless the whole world loved her. Now, after doing the inner work to heal those core wounds, she no longer craves the external stuff in the same way. Her dad Rod gently reminds us that while status and success may feed the ego, they rarely nourish the soul.

We recorded this episode a few weeks ago. Before the tragedy that occurred in Bondi last Sunday. Watching it back only makes me think of the families and community who are in the midst of deep grief. Who won’t get the opportunity to celebrate another birthday or another holiday season with their loved ones.

This conversation with my dad Rod was about my own personal realisation of gently coming back to what truly matters: appreciating the people in your life, letting go of the “should haves,” and choosing peace, connection, and the simple blessings that are here right now.

It seems timely, and I pray it helps x

Back by popular demand, this father daughter episode brings the conversation close to home, as Ash sits down with her dad, Rod, to explore what it truly means to grow, heal, and live with intention. Together, they reflect on how energy, consciousness, and the way we choose to see the world can shape the course of a life far more than circumstance ever could.

Together, Ash and Rod dive into the practices that have supported their own journeys, including gratitude and meditation, and how these tools have helped them navigate relationships, soften old patterns, and find a deeper sense of peace beneath ambition and material success. They speak honestly about the complexities of family dynamics, the tension between chasing more and being enough, and the ongoing work of aligning how you live with what really matters.

With the holiday season looming, their conversation turns to the emotional weight that Christmas can carry, especially for those in recovery or struggling behind the scenes. They share gentle, practical insights on protecting your energy, setting boundaries, and meeting yourself with compassion during a time that can feel anything but festive. At its heart, this episode is an invitation to slow down, look within, and choose kindness, to yourself and others, as a daily, deliberate practice.

Abby Calabrese shares how she’s only just begun to truly sit with her emotions instead of drinking through every high and low. Sobriety has shown her that even the biggest, scariest feelings move like clouds, and each time she lets them flow through, she builds a new kind of emotional muscle and trust in herself.
