You can keep food fresh from store to plate. Using the pantry, fridge and freezer. Keeping your food fresh for longer periods of time by using the correct storage.
There are five major culprits that cause fresh food to spoil prematurely: air, moisture, light, bacteria and temperature.
How can we stop them from attacking?
By keeping fresh ingredients cool.
The refrigerator provides the perfect temperature and dark storage for fruits and vegetables, so that they do not ripen prematurely and spoil before we can enjoy them.
Protect fruit and vegetables from air, moisture and bacteria by storing them correctly in your crispers (keeping 'friends' with 'friends') or my preferred method is in Tupperware's Ventsmarts, which regulates the amount of air that goes in and out of the containers.
The lids have three types of ventilation that allow food inside to "breathe", balancing the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide and keeping them fresh.
