The Degnan team and our key suppliers have kicked off 2025 with major progress as we push towards the finish line. With the big structural elements in place, we’re now focusing on the finer details to bring this facility to life.

Here’s what’s been happening on-site:
𝐎𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐝: Internal framing and lining are going up in the main building and staff amenities, transforming these spaces into functional work areas.
𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤: The last of the overhead wiring (OHW) structures and light poles are in place.
𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐞-𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞: Watermain, fire, and hydraulic services, along with the septic system, are being installed to keep everything flowing smoothly.
𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝: Construction of access roads and drivers’ walkways is progressing, making movement around the site safer and more efficient.

With so much coming together, the excitement is building. Stay tuned for more updates as we race towards completion.

The Degnan team is working alongside Downer who is undertaking the long-term maintenance of the 70-7 car HCMTs. The fleet was delivered by Evolution Rail Consortium which comprised Downer, CRRC and Plenary Group on behalf of the Victorian Government Department of Transport and Planning
