Born in Taiwan, raised in Australia, Persian of descent, Mona grew up surrounded by family and friends who spoke to her in Persian, Mandarin and English. Coming of age she longed to return to her roots and engage her son in her Persian heritage. This sparked the journey to unlock her rich and generous culture and share it with her multinational family, as well as like-minded friends. We hope these resources are able to facilitate and simplify your journey in teaching Persian to your loved ones.

Slow down 🛴 you’re in this for the long game. The more you lean in, the deeper the knowledge base. Learn a letter a week and really delve deep.

Process not perfection. 🌬️ You will make mistakes but you will learn from the process.

Preparation matters 📝 shapes the results. Have a routine and structure so you’re grounded and know what to expect.

My sabze is starting to sprout and we’ve got all the haft sín س ready!

Here is some Persian new year love from the last few years. Genuinely love this tradition. It brings the kids enormous joy to be part of making our sofreh and we talk about all the things that start with S including English word!! Acculturation at its finest.

There is still so much work to be done in the field of gender equality.
