How to dispose of ⬇️
Like many parents, I’ve found out I had recently purchased kinetic sand that may contain asbestos. So I obviously went to throw it in the bin and then thought - wait, this is asbestos - how am I meant to get rid of this!
This is what the internet tells me. I am NOT a professional, so this is not intended to be factual advice, this is information I have found by way of research:

You must not throw out asbestos-filled kinetic sand in regular bins; instead, take it to an authorised asbestos disposal facility or a designated local waste and recycling center after carefully preping it.
Stop using the product. Do not open it if it is sealed.
Wear protective gear. Wear mask, gloves, and disposable coveralls to prevent exposure.
If the sand is still in its original container, place it inside a heavy-duty plastic bag. If it’s already out, put the sand and any used cleaning gear into the bag.
Double-bag. seal. Place the first bag inside a second heavy-duty plastic bag & Seal both bags. Use duct tape. label the outer bag clearly with “Caution: Asbestos”.
Transport to an authorised facility. Do not use household bins. Take the double-bagged material to a pre-booked disposal site, they may require you to declare it as asbestos upon arrival. Check your local council’s website for the specific facility and the correct process.
Contact the retailer. - After safe disposal, you can probably contact the retailer to arrange a refund for the product.
