Australian shares have copped a $35 billion pounding in early trading today with the ASX falling by 108.6 points to 7751.1 points - following major falls across world markets triggered by US President Donald Trump's sweeping 'Liberation Day' tariffs.
While Aussie exports to the US are now subject to a 10 per cent tariff, only about four per cent of exported Australian goods go to America - leaving the vast majority unaffected.
