Do your kids love a street parade? Then they will love the children’s book I released earlier this year… Hullabaloo the Funky Singing Monkey. The excitement of a street parade in a nearby town is just the beginning of this prodigy singing monkey realising his dream of one day performing on a stage. Be there for his big stage debut as he struggles with stage fright. Best of all, he learns from a seasoned pro, a very important show-biz lesson and the rest is history. Come along on this wonderful journey and add this beautiful story to your Child book or music collection now available in all Book formats, audiobook, Kindle, and music also available on iTunes.

Finally, the day arrived where I was reunited with my dream team…Peter Bee (Music Producer) and Paul Miller (Illustration & Design). So thankful to have them both bring their expertise to help bring my book project to the world with trust and dedication . They also accompanied me to the State Library of Victoria where I made my second Legal Deposit submitting the physical copies of my 3 books for preservation and also copies of all 3 books for the SLV children’s book collection that will be available to the public. I have been wanting to visit the SLV for years and who could’ve ever imagined that I would finally get there as an internationally published author. It was great to finally have time to chat about the self publishing journey of the whole book project and what it took to bring it to the world… followed by a celebration lunch at ‘HERS’! I look forward to visiting the SLV again soon and checking out the dome building and coming soon is the behind-the-scenes interview’s with Peter, Paul and myself…

Before children speak, they sing. Before they write, they paint. As soon as they stand, they dance. Art is truly the foundation of human expression, a universal language that transcends barriers and connects us to our deepest emotions and experiences. From the moment we are born, we are drawn to express ourselves creatively, whether through sound, movement, or visual art.

Art is more than just a form of entertainment; it is a vital part of our development and understanding of the world around us. It allows us to process our emotions, communicate our innermost thoughts, and share our experiences with others. From the first time a child picks up a crayon to the moment they express themselves through dance or music, art is the vehicle through which we connect to our humanity.

This quote beautifully captures the essence of art as a foundational human impulse. It reminds us that before we learn to speak or write, we instinctively turn to creative expression to make sense of the world. Art serves as a bridge between the internal world of the individual and the external world of society, creating a space for connection, understanding, and emotional release.

As we grow, our forms of expression evolve, but the need for art remains constant. In every culture, throughout history, and across generations, art has been a constant thread that unites us all. Whether through music, painting, dance, or any other form, art allows us to express our humanity in ways words alone cannot capture.

The significance of art in the development of children cannot be overstated. It is through creative expression that children learn about themselves, their surroundings, and their place in the world. It nurtures their cognitive, emotional, and social growth, offering them a safe space to explore and process their feelings.

As adults, we often lose touch with this instinctual need for artistic expression. Yet, in remembering the wisdom of children and their unbridled creativity, we are reminded that art is not just something to appreciate—it is something to live, create, and embrace every day. Art is the foundation of our shared humanity, a reminder that we are all connected through the stories we tell, the songs we sing, and the movements we make.

As the end of the year is nearing and Christmas is upon us it’s wonderful to reflect on the year that has been. Yesterday Alessandra attended her Singing Lesson and was excited to see that Santa had arrived in the entry and wanted to have a photo with him. It was a perfect opportunity to ask her about the year especially as she had just completed another performance on the Tuesday night. The year has been filled with so many rewarding moments for her, including a huge progression vocally in technique as well as her vocal range. However, the year also included auditioning for Annie the Musical at the Princess Theatre for the role of Molly and for a role in the Movie Incidious. To top this off she also made her debut performance, performing solo a few months ago and has gained a huge amount of experience in preparing and working hard for these opportunities even at such a young age and making a big impression along the way. Alessandra also did her first paid Acting role and has had a huge dance commitment each week….So when I asked her what her favourite thing was this year, I was surprised to hear her answer! As part of her singing lessons I mixed things up by incorporating the scales and songs from my ‘ Hullabaloo The Funky Singing Monkey Song Book’ which is fun for the students and also inspiring as the story of the children’s book is a journey of a prodigy singing monkey that loves to sing and one day hopes to perform on stage with the ultimate dream of someday performing on Broadway. This is more than a dream but a reality for so many of our students and Artists over the years and many of which have achieved incredible things and stardom including Zoe Coppinger who has been playing the role of Elphaba in Wicked the Musical in Australia and now in Korea. As the year nears the end, it’s amazing to see those who have really applied themselves and done so much…that a well deserved break is the icing on the cake. I had planned to share this on my Institute Of Singing Page but thought it was perfect for my World Of Nancy Dagostino page as well! Merry Christmas to you all!!🎄🎅🤶🎄

It’s been a whole lot of fun for students at Institute of Singing trying out the scales and songs in the ‘Hullabaloo The Funky Singing Monkey Song Book!’ It takes vocal warm-ups to a whole new level, allowing singers to sing the lyrics that help open out their range without tension. The focus is on the theme lyrics and the rest just falls into place. This is a great way to start vocal training from home for kids who love to sing and or learn to play piano as well. The albums are also available on iTunes and everywhere where I guide you through each track. For more info head to my website link in bio.

What a sign last night whilst driving. I suddenly caught a glimpse of what looked the Queen of Rhyme Crown that appears in my children’s book sitting above the evening clouds. It was as clear as day and I knew in that moment that that I was exactly where I was meant to be. So thankful for such a special moment!
