Art therapy online. Is it really possible.
And the question we hear even more often:
Do I need to be talented in the arts.
The answer to both is simple.
Yes, it works beautifully and no, you do not need to be an artist.
We hear these questions often from professionals who are curious about art therapy but unsure how it fits into online wellbeing support. So we spoke with Jasmine, one of our counsellors in the Staff Wellbeing and Professional Support Hub, who brings art therapy into her online sessions.
Art, she reminded us, creates connection even through a screen. When the space is supportive, creativity can open doors to honesty, reflection and healing.
Online art therapy does not depend on a studio or specialist tools. Jasmine works with simple prompts, everyday materials, and helps participants set up a small comfortable space at home or in the office. The process stays grounded, accessible and deeply supportive for anyone.
The tools may change but the heart of the work remains the same. It is about connection, creativity and reflection. For many, being in a familiar environment deepens the experience and allows people to settle more fully into what emerges.
Jasmine brings this same thoughtful approach into her supervision work with counsellors, offering a reflective space to explore their practice, process challenging moments and continue growing with clarity and confidence.
If you are seeking reflective, compassionate and professional wellbeing support including art therapy and clinical supervision, our hub offers counsellors like Jasmine who bring depth, presence and genuine care to every session.
