Back at Loch Ness, 46 years later. ๐ค
I first came here in 1980 with my parents and sister Samantha, and I was that annoying kid who was OBSESSED with the Loch Ness Monster.
And I mean obsessed.
I read every book, encyclopedia entry and article I could find before we came - no internet back then, kids! - and arrived fully prepared to spot Nessie.
I spent so long staring at those cold, dark waters, desperate to spot him. I did not. ๐
But I was allowed to buy a wee Nessie as a souvenir - and Iโve managed to hang onto him for the last 46 years. He even still has his now faded gold tag. So, obviously, he had to come back to Scotland with me.
This time we actually went out onto the loch on a boat, complete with sonar, for another search with my wee Nessie aboard for luck. Still nothing.
But I know heโs down there somewhere. ๐
The best bit though? After 46 years, wee Nessie got to come back and say hello to his loch. And I decided 46 years was long enough for him to be without his own kind.
So he know has a bestie, Bessie, and 8-year-old me is thrilled for them both. ๐๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟโค๏ธ
