English footballer Madelene Wright faced a major setback in 2020 when she was released by Charlton Athletic following controversy over videos she posted on social media. Many people believed her football career might be over.
After leaving the club, Wright decided to take a different path. In 2022, she began creating content full-time on OnlyFans, a subscription-based online platform. The move proved to be extremely successful. Wright later revealed that she earned around £500,000 during her first year on the platform. The income completely changed her financial situation and gave her a level of independence she had never had before.
Despite her success online, Wright never lost her passion for football. While building her online career, she continued working toward a return to the sport she loved. She remained determined to prove that she could still compete at a high level.
Her efforts paid off when she made her return to competitive football. Ahead of the 2025/26 season, Wright signed as a defender for Chatham Town Women in the FA Women's National League.
Today, Wright successfully balances both careers. She continues to play competitive football while also running her highly successful OnlyFans account. The financial freedom she has gained through her online work allows her to support her football career on her own terms.
