A heartwarming and heroic story from China has recently captured the attention of people around the world — proving that sometimes, animals understand loyalty and friendship even better than humans.
On March 16, 2026, in Changchun city, Jilin province, passersby witnessed an unusual and touching sight on a busy highway. A group of seven dogs was seen walking together in perfect formation — calm, united, and determined.
The video, captured by a man named Lu and shared on Chinese TikTok, quickly went viral.
These seven dogs were not strays — they were beloved pets from three neighboring homes, raised together since puppyhood, forming an unbreakable bond. Reports revealed that they had been stolen by dog traffickers and transported in a truck. Somehow, these brave companions managed to escape and began a 17 km journey back home.
One of them, a German Shepherd, was injured. But what happened next touched millions:
• A Golden Retriever and Labrador stayed close, protecting the injured dog from traffic
• A small Corgi took the lead, guiding the group and constantly checking if everyone was still together
• Not a single dog was left behind
Despite attempts by the person filming to redirect them to safety, the group remained focused — walking side by side, determined to reach home.
A local rescue organization, Bitter Coffee Stray Dog Base, stepped in. Using drones and volunteers, they tracked the dogs’ journey through the freezing weather.
After two days of walking, on March 18–19, all seven dogs successfully returned to their homes — safe, together, and victorious.
