Sunrise on the farm is my favourite part of the day.

At KB Pre-Training & Spelling, everything starts calm β€” horses settled out in the paddocks, each one getting the time and space they need through their pre-training and spelling journey. It’s all individual, nothing rushed, just a steady routine that works for them.

I feel pretty lucky to live and work here. It’s a simple kind of life, but it’s exactly the environment I want the horses in while they’re with us.

And I’ve thrown in a couple of chook photos too β€” they’re basically part of the furniture around here (and yes, I’m a bit obsessed with them).

Morning routine at KB Pre-Training & Spelling 🐎

Our day starts early with horses being checked and fed, then we move into work across different groups β€” treadmill horses, riding horses, arena horses, and track horses.

At the farm, the best part is having the time to work through each horse properly, without rushing, just steadily progressing through the day’s routine.

We love seeing the updates with how horses from the farm are progressing, we have had these two from breakers and they are doing exceptionally well,
Hopefully exciting times ahead for connections.

Out of these 7 yearling breakers, which one do you think is the β€œHome Affairs” ?

KB Pre-Training & Spelling | Part 3 – My Story 🐎
Following on from Part 2, here’s a bit about how it all started for me.

I grew up with horses β€” I can’t remember a time not having them around. Pony club, eventing and showjumping were all a big part of my early years.

From working with stock horses and travelling Australia on the show circuit, to jumping on a racehorse at 15 and finding my passion β€” and still doing it today.

A lifetime around horses, shaping the way I approach pre-training and spelling.

OTT success update.
Lucy and Silver Thorn aka Frosty still smashing goals. First dressage comp of the year coming home with the goods.
They have a year packed with events Frosty has been an amazing horse, not only teaching people ride but has already notched up a number of people learning track work.
Frosty has definitely living his best life β€οΈπŸ‡πŸ»

Who likes the β€œHome Affairs”horses? Yesterday golden slipper winner was sired by Coolmore’s super sire Home Affairs.
The exciting part of my job is discovering the talent that these breakers have. Seeing firsthand what they are made of and bring all that ability to the surface.
I think to date this year I’ve seen some of the best yearlings I’ve worked with ever making for some exciting times ahead.
