Soul in the City is a Northern Soul club that has been running for 17 years with quarterly events at the Polish Club in Brisbane. We play a broad range of soul music including Northern Soul, Modern Soul and Motown from original vinyl. Anyone who has a love of Soul and dancing will enjoy our friendly atmosphere. Thanks to all made it along on Saturday and made it another great night. The room was full of happiness and good vibes with people dancing to the fantastic sounds of the 70's.
Thank you to our hosts at the Polish Club and in particular Stan, Eliza, Pavel and Adam for their tireless work behind the bar and all they to do facilitate our nights. Thank you to my mate Rysiek for all he does, putting out tables, cleaning up before and after and helping me during load in, he's a champion!
Thank you to Ainsley & Steve for helping me with the door list and apologies to those who purchased tickets after the online sales closed and weren't on the list.
Thanks to DJ Sam Ward for showcasing her love of disco and sharing the decks with me, it was a great pleasure to do the night with you.
Final thanks to all who helped with the pack down and load out at the end. It's never pleasant but the extra hands are a huge help and greatly appreciated.
We'll do it again sometime, watch this space for details.

Anyone who knows of Wigan Casino, Blackpool Mecca, The Twisted Wheel, Allnighters, Alldayers, Weekenders will be pleasantly surprised to discover the music is still alive and that the crowd are still as enthusiastic as ever. Soul in the City is a Northern Soul club that has been running for 14 years with events every 3 months at the Polish Club in Brisbane. We play a range of soul music including Northern Soul, Modern Soul and Motown, all of our music is played from vinyl 45’s. Anyone who has a love of soul, Motown and dancing will enjoy our friendly atmosphere. All newcomers are encouraged to attend and will be made to feel welcome.
