A true brother of redemption

💔 Some stories leave you speechless. This is one of them…

While he was protecting our children… his own family was being murdered.

His name is Deng.

For years, he has faithfully served as a guard at our orphanage in Nimule, South Sudan. While most people were sleeping, Deng was watching over our children. He has loved them, protected them, and served them as if they were his own.

But today…

While Deng was protecting our children, the rebels attacked his village and brutally murdered his wife and children.

When he got the devastating news he collapsed, fainted, and suffered a heart attack. He is currently in the hospital in Gulu, fighting to recover while carrying a pain no human heart should ever have to bear.

There are moments when words simply aren’t enough. This is one of them.

We don’t understand why tragedies like this happen. But we know this:

The God Deng has faithfully served has not abandoned him.

Today, we are asking believers around the world to lift this faithful servant before the throne of grace. Pray that the Lord would be his refuge when his heart is shattered, his strength when he feels he cannot go on, and his hope when everything around him feels lost.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” - Galatians 6:2

Today, let’s carry Deng’s burden together.

Please stop what you’re doing and say a prayer for this faithful man. And if you feel led, share his story so thousands more can lift his name before the Lord.
