5 ChatGPT prompts that feel illegal (lol not really but I wanted to join the trend):

“What are 10 things my [ideal client] is secretly Googling at 11pm?”
Because content that answers their real questions > content that just ticks a box.

“Write 5 Reel ideas which explain what I do but in a way that a 5-year-old would understand.”
Perfect for cutting the fluff and getting straight to the ohhh, I get it now.

“Turn this boring service description into 5 cheeky Reel ideas that spark DMs.”
Because dry is for toast, not your marketing.

“Give me 10 myths about my industry I can bust." With sass (if you're like me).
Instant content series. Instant credibility.

“What’s 5 things no one talks about in [your industry] that they should?”
Say the thing. That simple.

3 things I wish I knew before joining the dark side (aka working in Marketing)

1) Marketing is psychology, not just pretty posts.
I thought it was all about good design and great captions.
Turns out… it’s about knowing what keeps your audience up at night and then wrapping that in a scroll-stopping visual and a CTA that doesn’t scream “buy now or die.”

2) You’re never “done.”
There’s always a new platform, a new trend, a client wanting a new thing done yesterday. Strategy is a living, breathing beast and yes, the algorithm will betray you the moment you get comfortable.

3) Your best work won’t always perform the best.
That post you poured your soul into? 3 likes...
The one you threw together at 10pm on a whim? Viral.
Let it go. It’s not about the numbers, it’s about building a brand people actually connect with.

The dark side isn’t so dark once you’re in it. It’s messy, creative, emotional, powerful… and a little addictive. Just don’t forget to take a breath xx

Taking a break when you run a business isn’t just hard, it feels impossible.
Because the to-do list doesn’t stop.
The client questions still come in.
And somewhere in your brain, the guilt whispers:
“If I stop, everything will fall apart.”

So, here’s what can help:

- Prepping your clients in advance (clear expectations = clear headspace)
- Logging out, deleting the app, putting someone else on comms
- Relearning the art of rest, not as a reward, but as a right

You didn’t build your business to become a prisoner to it.
You built it for freedom, purpose, and a life that feels good.
You’re allowed to pause.

You write the perfect caption.
The hook is hook-ing.
The visuals are on point.
You hit post… and crickets.
Meanwhile, that blurry photo you threw up half-asleep gets all the likes and saves. Classic.

Here’s what no one tells you: content performance isn’t always logical.
There are so many reasons a post might underperform and most of them have nothing to do with how good your content is.

⚡ Timing
⚡ Your audience’s mood
⚡ The first 20 minutes of engagement
⚡ Algorithm roulette (Organic vs *Fake Organic*)
⚡ Mercury in retrograde, ALWAYS...

But here’s what does matter: consistency, clarity, and connection.
Not every post will hit the mark and that’s okay.

Guess what I did in Lake Como... I recorded a tone of videos - actually talking to the camera for once and... I have not posted a single one. Maybe I will, maybe I won't - I should. Sound like you? It's ok. Sometimes life happens and the things you wanted to prioritise slip to the back or maybe fear took over? Stress less - social media is still for fun as much as it is for marketing. xx

Sometimes, your feed just feels flat.
You look at your grid and think… “This used to feel more me.”
And you’re not sure when it stopped lighting you up.

Here’s the thing: it’s normal.
Creativity ebbs and flows. Algorithms shift.
And what once felt exciting can start to feel like a chore.

But maybe it’s not that you’re uninspired — maybe it’s that your direction has changed.
Your business might have grown, evolved, matured — but your content hasn’t caught up yet.

So instead of forcing another post, try this:

Revisit your core message ---> what do you really want to say? Take a breath. Log off. Let your brain play.

Sometimes the best thing you can do for your content is to stop trying to fix it

Things have been a lot behind the scenes lately. SEO, Blogs, EDMs, Social Media Calendars, Analytics (literally hate the maths side of creativity), client catch-ups… oh, and scheduling tools that decided to completely give up on us this month (fun!). Throw in planning a hens weekend for one of my best friends — with a wedding in Greece just around the corner — and you’ve got a recipe for the kind of chaos that doesn’t quite make it to the ‘gram.

Camille and I are juggling many brands, strategies and voices all at once. And truthfully? We love it. But some days, I sit down for five quiet minutes, book in hand, and instead of peace, there’s guilt. Guilt for resting. Guilt for not doing more. Guilt for not feeling successful, even though the to-do list is a mile long and the work is (mostly) legendary.

It’s that strange in-between where your head churns with 3am thoughts and you still show up, day after day, making IT happen for your clients — even when it doesn’t always feel like great in the moment.

This is the season we’re in. Messy. Full. Quietly brilliant.

And yep… Europe in August. Haha I promise this is my last overseas trip for the year...

Man oh man, what a wild week!

As many of you know, I went to Milan Design Week with one of my clients 🫶🏼🇲🇽 It was amazing and wonderful and all the things - but it also cost my business time, stress and $$.

Sometimes it’s ok to not be ok, even when you’ve been abundantly blessed, it’s not being ungrateful. When opportunities come your way, you have to dive head first - because you know they only happen once. Just know, that if you do, it’s not always going to be easy, it will pay off in the end (whenever that may be) and you won’t regret it.

Some people, especially on social media, make their lives out to look nothing more than amazing and easy, successful and fulfilling BUT - just remember- that’s just their highlight reel… Sometimes people pay $$, to look like they’re experiencing more than they are. So don’t focus on trying to keep up, focus on being your authentic self and chasing your own dreams.

And most importantly - have an amazing weekend ♥️ xx

Giving Your Brand a Voice (Without Getting on Camera!)

Not vibing with being on camera? Me either... But I promise, you don’t need to be front and centre to build a brand that feels real, human and magnetic.

Here’s how to give your brand a voice that connects without hitting record on your front cam:

1) Write how you speak – your captions, emails, and website should sound like you!
2) Use visuals that tell a story – behind the scenes shots, moodboards, day in the life pics.
3) Try voiceovers or audio – B Roll with a voiceover, I do this all the time for clients!
4) Lead with your values – what do you stand for? Share that stuff. It builds trust fast.
5) Pick a tone and run with it – flirty, warm, bold, calm – whatever feels most like you.

Your face doesn’t have to be the face of your business. Just make sure your energy still shows up - that’s what people really connect with.

23/04/2025

Social media’s meant to help your business grow—not feel like a never-ending stress-fest. But if your content isn’t landing, it might be down to one of these sneaky mistakes:

1. Posting Without a Strategy
Random posts = random results. You need a clear plan that speaks to your audience and goals.

2. Talking At People, Not To Them
Social media is a convo, not a billboard. Ask questions, reply to comments, and make your followers feel seen.

3. Overusing Stock Images
People want to connect with you, not generic Canva Lady With Coffee Cup. Show your face. Share your space. Keep it real.

4. Ignoring the Insights
Your data is pure gold. See what’s working, what’s flopping, and use it to steer your content in the right direction.

5. Being Inconsistent
One week of posting followed by three weeks of crickets won’t cut it. Consistency builds trust and keeps you front of mind.

Making these mistakes? You’re not alone—and they’re so fixable.

The future of Aussie business is not just for the "Big Guys"

Big shifts are happening and it’s not just the corporates riding the wave. Here’s where we see the future of business in Australia heading (and yes, it’s exciting for small biz too!):

✨ AI for All – No longer just a tech-bro thing. Smart, time-saving tools are making small businesses more efficient than ever.

🤝 Collaboration Over Competition – Think joint launches, co-hosted events, shared projects. We grow faster when we grow together.

🌿 Sustainability = Standard – Aussie consumers want ethical, eco-friendly businesses. It’s no longer a trend, it’s a must.

🏡 Flexibility is Here to Stay – Hybrid working (despite the politicians' policies), flexible hours, remote collabs. The work/life blend is finally becoming a forever reality.

🚀 Four-Day Work Weeks? Watch This Space. Trials are showing better productivity and happier teams. Yes please!

The future? More human, more values-driven, more doable for small business.
