Congratulations to Warren Bristow on becoming a full voting member of the Guild!

Warren revently passed the strict assessment of his 3 test knives with our WA state rep Mark Sinclair

Warren's knives are clean and classic with a bit of Loveless influence and these three were executed with a degree of technical difficulty that is more than meets the eye.

Well done Warren. Fantastic achievement 👏

Congratulations to Dom Binkert on officially becoming a full voting member of the Guild!

Dom recently passed his final assessment with our Victorian state rep Shawn McIntyre , submitting these 3 excellent knives.

Dom is one of the most prolific knifemakers in Australia and has worked incredibly hard from a young age to build a successful business in a very tough industry. He's developed an international reputation for his clean, consistent grinds and very cool designs. We're thrilled to see him officially recognizsed as a full Guild Member!

Want to take things to your next level as a member of the Australian Knifemaker's Guild? Knife Camp is on again at Tharwa Valley Forge, first weekend in December. Any prospective participants have a chance to really up-skill this year with two Mastersmiths and one Journeyman Smith in attendance, as well as other Senior Guild members.

This year Ian Stewart of Two Feathers Forge is looking to present a session on "tips, tricks and workarounds" in knifemaking. It will include simple tools and accessories you can make to assist in making your job just that little bit more consistent in your approach to your fit and finish. So, we need you to bring some examples of failures, mistakes that caused you to discard the item, be it a blade or otherwise. This is a unique opportunity, so get on board, we will all be bringing things for show and tell and I don't just mean our best work. Thanks for looking and see you there.

Welcome Joshua Perry-Davies!
Josh recently passed his probationary assessment with our Victorian state rep Adam

Josh hit it out of the park for a probationary set, with a variety of techniques including a tapered tang and a double edged grind.
Well done Josh. Great to have you on board!

Congratulations to Russell Toovey who just passed his assessment to become a Journeyman Smith with the society.

To earn this recognition, Russell travelled to Troy, Ohio, where he presented five finely crafted knives and a performance blade to a panel of ABS Master Smiths. His success is a testament to years of hard work, skill, and dedication – and the knives are nothing short of stunning.

A huge a achievement, we'll done Russell!
